Richfuck Cock-a-failer........ er sorry, Richard Rockefeller, son of David Rockefeller, pilot and "philanthropist" (yeah right) has died in a plane crash near New York - he was flying back from celebrating his father's 99th birthday.

Wow. Hopefully the grief of this will finish off David.

Oh fuck. Wrong thread. (it's 5am here). Someone move this to the Dead of 2014 plz

The death of tiki-taka

This is massively off topic (maybe one of the mods could create a world cup thread), , but I think Holland is the only major football team to never win the world cup.Maybe this is finally their year..

They're having a Porridge day on UK Gold today so there's a fair chance you might see him on there right now .Not many of the main cast left now!

Sam Kelly was the last actor alive who was in more than half the episodes of Porridge (12 out of 20). Nobody else still living was in more than 9 .Tony Osobo was in 9. Then it's Christopher Biggins who was in 6 episodes. Everyone else still alive were in more than 3 (David Jason, Peter Vaughan etc)

With the demise of Francis "Captain Scarlet" Matthews yesterday and Casey "Shaggy" Kasem today, the same could be said for voice actors...

Speaking of which, the last time I looked the legendary Ken Nordine (b. 1920) was still breathing.

I think it's the case that you need to cram your QI box-set up a place where even Stephen Fry's charm can't penetrate.

Pretty sure that's an urban myth...

Many more dead people in the past than those still alive today. I forget the exacting maths behind the best study but off the top of my head it was something like 50 fold more dead down the years than those currently alive in our over populated world today.

About 108 billion ever and currently about 7 billion alive today, that's more like 15 fold in the past.
