Goodbye to the French Elvis Presley, and a resistance fighter in the war to boot !  Clearly a great man

I was beginning to think he was immortal. Obviously not.

Farewell sir, you leave a huge gap on the Vivement Dimanche sofa.

I have just heard about that sad thing. Charles Aznavour died at 94. Great singer and charismatic man. RIP!  :(

With his death and Geoffrey Hayes', there is a very strange link.

In the 1970 film The Games, Michael Crawford play's  a character called Harry Hayes.

Aznavour strangely plays a Czech competitor.

All we need now is a rainbow over the Eiffel Tower today.

Also Crawfords on my list next year.

I would have said he was one of the least likely to go on this years list as he was still looking and sounding sharp. But at 94 it doesn`t take much too finish you off.

Crikey. He looks pretty good here.Certainly doesn`t look like he would die 2 days later.Must have been a heart attack stroke or some sort of accident.

If this video was posted here I would have that he would make the year. Not how it's usually used, but "chacun voit midi à sa porte".

Compared to Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis, Aznavour and Bennett both had fairly clean living.

And yet Jerry has outlasted him !

Interesting as The Guardian has him as the French Frank Sinatra rather than the French Elvis Presley!

Anyway I must confess he was not on my radar at all .

Reminds me of how Arthur Lowe died the day after he gave a TV interview as well.

That's very sad news, but marvellous that he went out still active and performing at such a grand age.

I don't speak very well in english, i wanted to say that in the interview he says he will live after 100, so that means that even people who is in good shape can be a good deathlisted....

Felt like the type who would go on for years yet, but given how many healthy nonagenarians the Committee picked this year, I suppose statistics reckoned at least one of them would go. Sad loss, but 94's a grand age and he seemed to be making the most of life right up until the end.
