Charles Aznavour

Recommended Posts

I am guessing it was a fall given the fact he was so well the other day and the fact the media aren`t saying "died peacefully".Also he hurt his arm a while back presumably from a fall.

Adieu.

Had him in my French Team, so some fine points.

Very surprising. Indeed, sounds like an unnatural death.

The RTL link posted by Supiot says that he died in his sleep.

Selon nos informations, Charles Aznavour, dernier des géants de la chanson française, est mort dans son sommeil à son domicile dans les Alpilles, dans le sud de la France.

Alot of 94 year olds can suddenly drop dead. Sounds like a sudden heart attack to me.

according to Michel Leeb ( a French humorist), he saw him Sunday afternoon and he felt like Aznavour was well in shape, straight on his feet, joking and walking by himself, he had a lot of projects for this year and next year. According to him, his death is unexplainable because he was really fine yesterday…

A surprise hit for my Derby Dead Pool "#1 Hits" theme team. I resented "having" to include him, because as the oldest living male UK #1 hitmaker, he was on there effectively by default regardless of his health. I expected him to outlive most of his 19 teammates.

I believe the oldest living male #1 hitmaker is now Tony Bennett, who I intend to start resenting from 2019 onwards.

I think this is the best headline pun for a death for a long time, and in French as well, tres bien.

I think the best blurb was for Robin Gibb in 2012 (see below).

Robin Gibb has ended the "will he, won't he" speculation by passing away from cancer aged 62. The co-founder of the Bee Gees becomes the third of the Gibb brothers to die, giving DeathList 2012 its fourth success of the year and the second inside of a one day. His passing has been described as a "Tragedy" and leaves the one remaining Gibb brother being asked by reporters "How Deep is your Bruv?". Gibb was the number 2 selection on this year's list, making his first appearance, and, in a rare event, sees the top three DeathList candidates all passing. On a day when a man who caused much pain and suffering for people throughout the world is taken from us by cancer, it's a little sad to see him steal the headlines of the death of Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi.

These are all too common. We should have a "death by bathtub" thread by now.

A well-known french TV-Show has shown a video taken 2 days before his death : he looked so Good, he spoke so clearly and was completely clear. A quick reminder that one’s condition can suddenly take a turn to the worse....
