Must have been a DDP Pick at some point. If not, why not?

Edit: He is this year. Phew!

I had him on my long list for so long I thought he was the guy in Terror of the Vervoids. I have only just twigged that was the character name (surely an injoke) and the actor is only just turned 60!

Some enlightening article about Kenyan  businessman Chris Kirubi, DDT's pick in Death By Numbers:

Yeah, following this one at the moment. Is Kenya relevant enough to get the BBC Africa obit? One for 2020 punters to work out themselves....

I did give serious thought to giving Kirubi a run out on this year's DDP, but was worried about him getting the right obits.  Might have to revisit that next year if he makes it.

He's a businessperson.  I also put the co-owner of the Calgary Flames in this thread last (?) year.  Could've gone in American Football Players or this one.

Did you just use your own post from the past to justify your post in the present?  Has anyone ELSE put a team owner in a thread beyond the sport in which the franchise participated?

Nobody objected the first time.  Had they, I'd have reconsidered.  Doing a quick search, I've actually posted multiple sports owners to this thread without issue.  I will take it under advisement and reconsider the next time one croaks.

mexican entrepreneur Jorge Vergara dead at 64 years:

He was known as the founder of Grupo Omnilife, which creates health products and runs the Club Deportivo Guadalajara soccer team, among other things.

I picked him in the Cup after rumours of pancreatic cancer. He was supposedly comatose and dying already.

It was never clear what happened then. Now he's dead of a heart attack.

Not looking great for Bernard Tapie.  Doesn't look like a legal maneuver looking for sympathy this time. This time it's for reals. In his lungs now. 2020 cert, imo.

Quite amazing that someone associated with being in charge with Viacom died and it wasn't Sumner Redstone.
