In the 20-plus years of his company’s existence, Fuad El-Hibri built up a manufacturing constant that gained the trust of the US government with just a single product.

El-Hibri died on April 23 at the age of 64, just weeks after stepping down as the chairman of Emergent’s board. A family representative told the New York Times that El-Hibri died after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Just no way of knowing when some of these folks are going to go quickly without more info. I’m certain he was on a few radars after stepping down with PC but you’d think about a year maybe not a month.

Robert Vlasic, who grew his family's east side Detroit food business into a national brand, has died. He was 96.  Vlasic relied on gentle humour to sell his pickles. He was also the board chairman of Campbell Soup Co. from 1988 to 1993.

An outrageous 'miss' for the Made In Detroit' theme team.  Not listing him in our DDP entry has put us in a bit of a pickle.

Egyptian-American billionaire (Wiki) Fayez Sarofim dead at age 92-93.

Well-known in Texas, Houston especially, as he donated millions to the area. A part-owner of the NFL team Houston Texans as well.

Not particularly note-worthy unless one is a business/stocks aficionado.

Surprise, I'll spark up a cigarette in her memory.

I seem to remember she had a stroke  pre Dragons  Den so she was on one of my longlists but way down.

Sad news.

Arguably  could be placed in a television thread also.

Hilary Devey, entrepreneur  and panellist on Dragons  Den has died aged 65.

She looked rough when she was in Pointless Celebrities, but I'll be honest I didn't even consider her for my Pointless Theme Team.

Shame. She was iconic on her couple of series on Dragons’ Den.
