The BBC launched their coverage of Netherlands v USA with the news that reports say he is receiving end of life care. Feels like they thinking they might have to announce his death on air during the match.

Or, it's huge news related to a legend of the World Cup. Not everything is a carefully thought out conspiracy.

His daughter's saying it isn't anything to worry about yet being in end of life care. Who the fuck do I listen to?

I will see an annoucement of his death close to the WC final (so, 16th or 17th December for instance), but I think it should happen much sooner ...

they won't be able to wait several days without his death being known anyway. Brasil next game are monday, this could be a target

It doesn't matter when he will die. All does matter right now is the inspiration and memories he will left. Multitudes of people from different generations was influenced to play football because of him. Pele is one of the greatest football player ever live on this planet.

I will still choose Queen Elizabeth. She's obviously the most notable death this year!

Palliative care is a bit of a strange one, because people can last a matter of days or months maybe even years. when my grandad died in 2016 he had roughly 6 months from us being told it was end of life care. All I know is there will be a lot of devastated football fans when he does go.

Agreed but a very big "if", I'd be surprised if he makes it to the second half of this month
