Interesting token trivia type pick here. The most interesting thing he did apart from help create Las Vegas is marrying a woman 48 years his junior and having the sense to sign a pre-nup!That`s what I call a good business investment.

Well, since his brother Jack is dead, I guess no one can assist him whenever he feels suicidal. Thus, he will survive 2015.

He had a brother called Jack? Are you sure that you haven't mistaken him for euthanasia activist Jack Kervorkian, a fellow Armenian-American, yet not his brother. Or was it supposed to be a joke?

In that case, sorry for not getting it. ;)

Funding an epic movie about the Armenian genocide:

http://www.showbiz411.com/2015/02/26/exclusive-billionaire-kirk-kerkorian-97-funding-epic-feature-film-about-armenian-genocide

I also frequently confused him with Jack Kervorkian, I thought that guy was still alive, and on the Death List.

I don't blame you - this Kerkorian guy may be quite rich, but not very interesting, unlike his near-namesake. On the other hand, this article seems to be factually inaccurate.

I am assured that the Kardashians, the most famous Armenian Americans since the great writer William Saroyan, will be not be appearing in the film under any circumstances.

I'm pretty sure that Cher (born Cherilyn Sarkisian) was at least as famous, and she's almost 70 now, she might be a DDP/Deathlist prospect in a few years.

Am I the only one who has trouble pronouncing this bloke's name?

ETA: The Armenian (one who had nothing to do with America) who towers above all (in my eyes) is Tigran Petrosian (1929 - 1984), the 9th World Chess Champion (1963 - 1969).

I'm fine with pronouncing Kerkorian's name, but I had had some trouble with that of their best (current) football player, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, until I learned that an epenthetic schwa can be inserted after the /m/ in his surname.

The Armenians still excel at chess by the way, Levon Aronian has been among the best chess players for nearly a decade now, and are always top contenders at the chess olympiads, despite having a population of only 3 million in Armenia (and a large and influential diaspora in the US, they even made it to the famous deathlist ;)).

I knew the Armenian diaspora was quite huge (well, the Kervorkian movie will show why that is), but I had no idea about Cher!

This is a film I hope really gets made. Many do not know about the Armenian genocide and it is about time the general public know about it, especially young people who don't seem to be informed about world history. Hope this gentleman lives to see his film in movie theaters.

Look, I put an extra happy in and doubled my normal quota of party smilies, just for you! (That's gotta be worth a couple of million pounds, I'll take a cheque, or should I say, check)!!!

You can't take it with you...

The Deathlist is on a roll...

RIP... can't say much about this...

Edit: Even a unique hit on the DDP

Edit2: I guess his slot on the Deathlist might easily be filled by Sumner Redstone, should he survive the year.

He's dead? Man, f*ck this. Now the Deathlist is two hits ahead of me :( And when Kohl dies it'll be three hits ahead :(

BTW, I'm not sure if I posted this before, but I had a feeling the summer of 2015 would be a summer with many deaths much like in 2007.

There are a few of the ill folk hanging on still, while the recent spate has been folk who just happened to be old and not wake up one day.

Remember how long we waited until the 1st hit? And then the 3rd hit? About 2 months for each... we thought this would be a crummy year!

Sure there will be others, but here's a UK Obit already for the DDP. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/ap/article-3126727/Kirk-Kerkorian-billionaire-Las-Vegas-casino-mogul-dies.html

Sumner would be a great addition to the DL imho, got enough of a backstory to be interesting, rumours of him being basically a doddering dementia ridden shell despite claims by his family that he's still as sharp as a tack and running his businesses, survived being in a damn fire and guaranteed a front page obituary from the FT.

Now what's frightening is that 3 of the 5 people I reSearched have died in a month! The only two left are Reagan and Dole. They better watch their step.

Precisely.I can`t imagine Woodhead or Crowe surviving the year.I also doubt that Bhumibol Kohl and Phillips have too long left either.None of the others would come as a huge surprise though.A very strong list indeed.
