I fully expect her to be riding a bike on her 100th birthday just like ODH !

edit actually I've just read that article and she says she runs a mile every day so my bike joke may be closer to the truth than I thought ! :o

I'm a little leery about that running a mile thing! Just saying.......

So, Mary Tyler Moore Show cast:

Ted Knight:rip:1986
Mary Tyler Moore:rip:2017
Georgia Engel:rip:2019
Valerie Harper:rip:2019
Cloris Leachman:rip:2021

Betty White, 99, is now the last female standing.

Gavin MacLeod, 90 next month, and Ed Asner, 91, both still with us too.

Could they outlive all of the female regulars?

If the 'everything comes in threes' rule is in effect she should be worried, following the death of healthy looking nonagerians Cloris Leachman and Cicely Tyson.Could she be no 3 ?

I think Larry King was the first of this set of threes.

Leachman-Tyson-Holbrook is a trio of Hollywood a-listers as they all died within 5 days of each other. ;)

And we had the trio of prominent rabbis on Sunday.

I don't believe in it either but going along with it, even as just a human conception of superstition, makes things a little more entertaining.

I’m not saying it never happens, but it’s not common as everyone thinks

Yes, as in you get the impression from their posts that their IQ starts with a decimal point.

https://www.tmz.com/2021/05/11/betty-white-keeps-busy-quarantine-covid-update-summer/

Her rep Jeff Witjas tells TMZ that White is "keeping herself busy" home by reading, watching tv and doing crossword puzzles. Signs letters and makes phone calls but doesn't leave her home much. (has limited visits with friends and loved ones through the window of her home, doesn't go shopping)

Now it's Asner vs. White.

I'd say Asner will outlive White because of the 8 year age gap and because Asner still looks great (and because White barely leaves home nowadays as I mentioned above), but you never know.

Betty White is now the last surviving cast member of The Mary Tyler Moore Show.

And, like with the Golden Girls, she holds this distinction while being the earliest-born cast member!

Ed Asner dies, leaving Betty White as the sole survivor from the Mary Tyler Moore Show. (Not counting special guests like Helen Hunt who was on in 1977)

How did Ed Asner not make it onto the list?

There should be a section for all the celebrity deaths that were missed each year.

In fairness, I think if we had a straw poll on the forum for folk living for a while yet, Ed Asner would have been near top of the list. Sometimes people just die. There's a motto for life!

I would give you more credit if you made a shadow deathlist of your own and had Asner on it.

He wasn't even on my radar for this year.
