msc 18,483 Posted November 28, 2017 Apparently Deathlist alumnus Profumo shagged a Nazi spy. So what I get from this is that the Nazis wanted to blackmail young likely MP John, so they send a 1930s glamour model (and spy) to seduce him. He sleeps with her for nigh on 4 years. Then, he votes the opposite way to what the Nazis would have wanted in parliament in the first place, making it all a waste of time. Then he got a long career of sleeping with society girls before the whole Keeler thing. Not much of a cautionary tale, really!
charon 4,943 Posted November 30, 2017 I don't really know where to put this. 2018 possibilities. Stuid funny things. Etc etc. A kickstarter campaign, has put 4 names into obit frame as 'if' film released, they'll get some coverage when they peg. 4 employees who refused to repair the Chilean aircraft in the 1973 murderthon. Stories in the link, and a wee film, Bob Fulton is a cert obitwise. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/debasers/nae-pasaran-the-scots-who-defied-pinochet-finishin
Zsa Zsa's leg 884 Posted December 1, 2017 Kate Steinle's murderer found NOT GUILTY. Jose Zarate, the man charged with the murder of Kate Steinle has been deported multiple times and according to defense "accidentally shot" Ms. Steinle. I think this verdict is ridiculous, it's not a surprise coming from California though. I don't believe in the death penalty but I certainly wouldn't have been mad if he got it. We should expect Trump to ramp up his racist rhetoric on twitter any moment now, he's been retweeting videos of muslim migrants beating up disabled dutch boys as well so we know he's in a particular mood.

gcreptile 10,979 Posted December 2, 2017 Three strikes and you're out... First strike was Ronald Reagan. Second strike was George Bush Jr. Third strike was Donald Trump. The American government will lose the ability to act strategically. Not necessarily militarily, but when it comes to climate change, poverty, infrastructure measures, and so on. National interest will be replaced with a thousand seperate corporate interests. Every era ends. The American era ended with Obama.

Then it went downwards but the collapse of communism was another victory. And then there was the Internet and all that. Also, China wasn't ready yet. So I think the era ended not too long ago. The American century began in 1918 and ended in 2017. The moon landing (and Nixon) is almost right in the middle. Almost by design.
YoungWillz 21,071 Posted December 4, 2017 NI will become the EU's back door to the UK. The DUP really are insane - yes we must leave, we must have the same as the UK (forget abortion, etc) but no border. We shall see goods and people coming in via Eire. Unless Tezza institutes border checks on the mainland. It is time to

We all stay in the single market, or no one leaves the EU, or we leave without a single thing agreed and no ability to do trade deals with anyone. Simple.
YoungWillz 21,071 Posted December 12, 2017 Tories and I think the SNP now want to harvest our organs after death unless we say otherwise. Nope. Not happening. Thatcher didn't want my blood in the 80s, not getting anything when I'm gone. Meantime, while adding trillions to the US debt, Trump wants to send astronauts to the moon. While the world searches for a suitable life bearing planet for when this one is destroyed, this tool wants to go next door.

YoungWillz 21,071 Posted December 22, 2017 Tezza denies knowing anything about allegations against Damien. Would that be in the same way that Damien "knew nothing" about the porn on his computer? Meantime, I see that the Brexit debate has degenerated into some anal posturing about the colour of the passport. FFS, get on with the job, really who is that up their own posterior about the colour of a passport?

YoungWillz 21,071 Posted December 22, 2017 Well I voted for it and I don't give a hoot, lol. Interesting the discrepancy there between pre-decimal currency and selling in pounds and ounces. Neither of which I remember, and I'm getting on a bit. Brexit is obviously a bright future full of opportunities - to return to the past? Bloody fools. YoungWillz 21,071 Posted December 22, 2017 I'm assuming a fair number, like 53% in fact, are less than fully educated. The provisions regarding the death penalty are part of the European Convention on Human Rights, not the EU. So we'd have to leave that Convention separately - something I think the current bunch are in favour of, but it has nothing to do with Brexit.
