Without wishing to do the govt’s work and brush the law breaking under the carpet, I just need to ask: What, and I absolutely cannot stress this enough, the FUCK is this?

Boris Johnson is currently out of the UK on business.

Quick! Someone change the locks on the door while he's gone!

I hope Boris Johnson comes down with a *very* severe case of Delhi Belly whilst in India.

I don’t believe that anyone more stupid than Nadine Dorries has ever existed.

Wish she’d “exercise her sport” by getting the fuck out of politics as quickly as possible.

I have no idea if Nadine Dorries is dyslexic or not (I don't recall ever seeing it mentioned elsewhere), nor do I know if dyslexia can manifest itself in the way she describes, but I'm sure if she's right about this, with all the hours of TV she's got under her belt, there are other examples of this happening, which causes me to question why no-one ever picked up on it before. The only other explanation I can think of is that she's lying.

This woman has successfully stood for Parliament on 5 occasions, worked as a special adviser to Oliver Letwin (the then Shadow Chancellor) on Media Relations for 3 years, has written multiple books (shit though they apparently are) and appeared on that famous 'let people see the real you' show 'I'm a Celebrity'. At no point in that time has it come up or been suggested that she suffers from dyslexia. Yet apparently now she does - convenient.

Does dyslexia also mean she can't read briefing papers explaining how Channel 4 is funded? Or mean she's required to attack anybody who criticises the blond buffoon at every available opportunity?

It's a smokescreen, designed to elicit sympathy. But she hasn't wanted to make her dyslexia a big deal and wouldn't want to be treated any differently for apparently suffering from it. So she remains an ill-educated, cold-hearted, opportunist charlatan masquerading as a cabinet minister who will be out on her ear the minute someone with even a shred of honour or integrity takes office.

Government broke the law . How many times is that now?  Call me a 'conspiracy theorist' but I think that was a calculated move to kill off large amounts of the elderly in care homes.

Conservative councillor in Elmbridge urges residents to vote for the Lib Dem candidate, as (local MP) Raab’s Conservative party is “not the party [he] joined” and calls them out for the liars and charlatans they are. Good man.

The latest I've seen on Partygate is that the Prime Minister looks like escaping a fine for the BYOB do in the Downing Street garden. Apparently, so the theory goes, because it was his own garden, he wasn't breaking the "stay at home" rules, unlike the other attendees. Although one might have assumed having 50 people from outside your household in your back garden was, at least in part, your responsibility. But, hey, that's just me...

"An MP has spoken out about lewd comments allegedly made to her by a member of the shadow cabinet.

She said she was described as a "secret weapon" because "women want to be her friend" and men want to sleep with her.

The Welsh MP, who wants to remain anonymous, said it was not the only sexist or misogynistic behaviour she experienced in Parliament or on parliamentary business."

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-61245456

Personally, I'd take that as a compliment.  It's certainly not "misogynistic".

It may not be misogynistic but it is sexist but I do get the impression the Conservatives are trying to find anything that anyone in the Labour party have done to take the heat out of the current issues that are circulating. The "they are all the same narrative" is one the Conservatives are OK with because reduced turnout favours them because they are better at getting their core vote out

I am slightly puzzled at the shadow cabinet member, because I've taken a look at the female Welsh Labour MPs, and nobody jumped out as fitting either of those descriptions. No tall, leggy blondes, nobody particularly young. Unless she's Welsh but not representing a Welsh constituency. Anyway, agree with Biblio it is unnecessary in this day and age.

I wouldn't even call it sexist.   You could flip it round and say something similar about a man.

I'm not qualified to give an example, as I think only a man can give insight on the "friend" part.

Most things are "unnecessary".  Compliments.  Jokes.

We could do with more tolerance.

Nowhere I can see that suggests its a Labour MP to whom the comments were made.

Is she an AM?

Agreed, but describing someone you barely know as someone men want to sleep with is not something most elected officials would necessarily want to be the first thing they associate with you. And it's unlikely to be the first place an MP would go if the person concerned was a good looking male MP.

Point taken, I just assumed if you're describing someone as the party's secret weapon, you'd be talking about your own party, but it's possible they weren't having re-read the article.

I considered that, but the articles seem to refer specifically to an MP.

In ITV News' report on the incident, they just referred to Keir Starmer responding to a complaint from 'one of his own MPs that she has dealt with sexist comments from colleagues'.

There's no indication of how well he knows her.  I say again, it was complimentary on every level.

It's a sad world now when people can't even venture a jocular and appreciative remark without being labelled offensive.

Mind you, he was wrong, because going by this I wouldn't want to be her friend.  I don't like people who have sticks up their arses.
