No doubting his cunt credentials but he makes some valid points.

He's certainly railing against the orthodoxy. It's just a matter of how long before he is the orthodoxy.

If he is lucky he will go a full first term.

The next President will spend their first term undoing everything that Trump did.

Im kinda looking forwards to seeing BMW crushed under the 'possible' tariffs imposed by the US and the UK.

All those prospective owners are going to have to shift more drugs than ever to afford one. :D

Ooh What a naughty and cynical thing to say!!!

The 'Great' America to which Trump aspires I'm assuming must be the 50s. Soon it will be all I Love Lucy, Jack Benny, cigarette smoking, atom bomb tests, southern apartheid and of that old favourite, back street abortions https://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/27/us/politics/march-for-life.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=b-lede-package-region&region=top-news&WT.nav=top-news&_r=0

Aye, the 1850s.

Oddly enough 1850 was the year California joined the union. Might give Trump an idea.

Actually strange you suggest that because there is a rumour flying that Trump is encouraging the GOP to fund the Calexit campaign in order to almost certainly assure a Republican Victory every presidential election. And although it's a rumour, California has just recently opened up an embassy in Moscow - no smoke without fire, right?

The people who started it are in fact conservatives or ex conservatives and one of the guys voted trump. California Being independent I think would work out perfectly for both sides.

Always way of this... Remember saying I wanted Scotland to stay part of the UK so Labour had a chance of getting in our at some point... Then the SNP did their thing and labour did theirs...

"...stressed the need for people to respect the choice of US voters."

Except it wasn't.

If people are going to make comments about the US presidential election they need a crash course in the electoral college. This is a pretty good history of it.

Fair point.

I think the general thrust of the article was that there was an absolute hysteria surrounding his Presidency and, from this end of the Atlantic, its all the more strange considering who we have had here on State visits and there were no mass protests or summat.

I don't like him at all but taking to the streets here with 'proper' placards, neatly organized by Momentum, the Anti Nazi league and the Socialist workers party wont do fuck all.

Just my opinion.

There was a massive protest againt Reagan in '84 and he won by a landslide. It's all part of free speech. You can't expect the 49% to roll over if the 51% vote to exterminate them.

That's a bit dramatic.

I was talking about the Tofu eaters of Islington going down to Westminster to register their false horror at Trumps election.

Dramatic effect. Trump supporters are going to whinge on about people getting upset when he abuses them because he said he was going to. It doesn't work like that. He can have the power but everyone doesn't have to like what he does with it.
