Don't think this ever even aired in the UK? Apart from one episode broadcast on BBC4 in about 2003/04 as part of some theme night

Bud Yorkin, Jeffersons and All in the Family Director-Producer, Dies at 89

http://variety.com/2015/film/news/bud-yorkin-dead-dies-all-in-the-family-jeffersons-1201573086/

Huh. This has been a pretty quiet year for 20th Century American Sitcoms deaths.

Richard Bare, Ben Powers, Dick van Patten and Bud Yorkin are some of the only ones whom I've heard of who have died this year, and none of them (except maybe Dick) were famous.

In 2012, so many stars died, e.g. Sherman Hemsley, Andy Griffin, Davy Jones, Larry Hagman.

Well, a couple hours later, Yvonne Craig (Batgirl) dies.

I wonder how many other 20th century sitcom stars will die now that I said that so few have died this year.

OMG, Reginald VelJohnson has Alzheimer's disease.

Proof? He can't remember the lyrics of the theme song for Family Matters. :o

I didn't even realise that there had been a US version of Steptoe and Son. I had to look this up on Wiki to understand what SC was on about.

Good work.

Unfortunately there was. I saw a couple of episodes and It was painful to watch.

The acting was wooden, and the scripts were taken directly from episodes of Steptoe with just names and places changed.

Plus none of the characters ever got a pickled onion stuck up their arse.

Noel Neill (Lois Lane on the 1950's Superman TV show) is almost 95.

No health problems, except for breaking a hip in 2010.

Somebody to keep an eye on.

Pat Woodell, known for her role on Petticoat Junction, died at 71 already back in September:

Funny thing about these 20th century sitcom cast/crew members... a lot of them (if they didn't have any other significant acting roles) get out of the public spotlight and when they die, it goes unannounced for weeks. Same with Ben Powers in April and Richard Bare in March.

OK I re-posted this and straightened it out a bit, but sadly other than some explanations as to who is whom, it remains the same. Maybe my re-posting it will spell the demise of a major player (Norman Lear?) as I publish it. It did wonders for Bud Yorkin inside of an hour.

Incredibly, Danny Thomas' second wife in the 1950s sitcom Make Room for Daddy is still alive at age 96: Marjorie Lord. The sitcom later changed name to The Danny Thomas Show (huge ego much?).

Anyways, given Marjorie's advanced age, it's probably not surprising to hear that she has Alzheimers now. Well, at least according to this IMDb post on January 10, 2015.

Not alive. http://www.latimes.com/local/obituaries/la-me-1212-marjorie-lord-20151212-story.html

Check Deathrace and Hare's Pool, etc.

2 DDP teams thank the Lord (if and when there's a QO).

Christ sake we all missed this one given the post attached but that's what happens with after-January information, it's gotta last 12 months to be actionable.

Conrad Janis (born 1928) and Bernard Fox (born 1927) are other possibilities. I think Janis still works but I haven't seen Fox do anything in a long time. Although known primarily for Buck Rogers, Tim O'Connor (born 1927) was in a couple of episodes of M*A*S*H and may be worth keeping an eye on.

Of the regular M*A*S*H cast, William Christopher, Jamie Farr and Wayne Rogers are all over 80 though health wise I only know that Farr has diabetes.

Wayne Rogers dead.

Mike Minor, best remembered as Steve Eliot on the “Petticoat Junction” TV series has died. He was 75 years old. When “Petticoat Junction” left the air in 1970, Minor worked in daytime drama, appearing on “The Edge of Night,” “As The World Turns,” “Another World,” and “All My Children.” His last TV acting appearance was on a 1993 episode of L.A. Law. In 1999, Minor performed on Broadway as Inspector James Ascher in "A Perfect Crime."

Thanks for head's up Y-Dub.

As I stated originally, MANY of the folks on this list may have had 1-episode roles or summat, but most went on to do bigger and better things with their acting careers, at least true of 70% of them. This is a case in point.
