That Portillo Moment

Recommended Posts

Think it's safe to say Jeremy Cunt will be the Portillo moment should it come to pass unless Rishi loses his (unlikely)

Braverman, Patel and/or Truss losing would be just as big.

We're open for suggestions.

Pick 1, 2 or 3 sitting MPs who are standing for re-election, in the hope that they will lose by the largest margin (winner of seat votes as against your pick votes). Also enjoy the tears, the fake smiles, the shock and awe of results night, and even those who lose by a whisker as a side show. You can pick someone who has been picked by someone else. I'll do a list. Entries close at 7 am BST on 4th July.

I'll have a go at Rob Roberts (Clwyd East), Lee Anderson (Ashfield) and Bim Afolami (Hitchen).

Am assuming they don't need to be A Listers from that list?

No they don't have to be, just a side game.

One can still relish the big names to fall, but enjoying the demise of other political careers, who am I to deny you that? *chef's kiss*

As Wilde once said: Misfortunes one can endure - they come from outside, they are accidents. But to suffer for one's own faults - ah! - there is the sting of life.

Oh I think a few bigger names will fall but if the task is widest defeat for a sitting MP then the former Scottish justice minister is a top candidate IMO!

I thought Bridgen was standing for Reform but he's just an independent. Even Frank Field got gubbed as an independent and he ain't no Frank Field.

Bridgen was my pick, but I ditched him for Bim - nothing I'd like better than to see this utter snivelling toady with thought for nowt but party get his arse presented to him on a plate with Dauphinoise potatoes.

It’s actually quite surprising just how bad Alba are still doing in the polls. Even with the SNP struggling they not benefiting.

Because they have no real differentiating policies other than their stance on trans rights and being a sulking ground for Alex Salmond.

But I would have thought Salmond himself had a bit of popularity to get a bit higher in the  polls.
