Sorry Windsor but number 20 Roberto Suazo Cordova has already died.

Ah flip. In which case Leslie Philips, Nobby Stiles and Sean Connery all move up a space and James Martin of Still Game fame takes number 23rd space.

ETA with the revelation on Jan 30 that Morton Sobell died late December, I threw Kissinger (one of the names I had last year, but dropped) on the list. If this list were part of an actual deadpool I'd take the L and deal with a non-starter among the 50, but feel it doesn't really violate deadpool ethics to replace someone dead for a month on a list that isn't actually part of any competition.

ETA James McCord died in 2017. Now that it's April I'm just going to have to deal with a squad of 49.

First hit of the year. DL 0-1 Quim. Kind of goes against my normal picks in terms of how widely known they are, but he's a DL forum icon so I couldn't resist.

Sadly, the Seer was going to be my joker in the DL Cup, so that's pissed me off.

Well, it has been really slow in terms of shadow list worthy names in general (I’m also still at 0 and I’m sure there’s others at 0 too). I think only a couple names that could be considered shadow list worthy have even died. Now, it’s likely that it’ll pick up the pace by the end of the year, so I wouldn’t worry about that yet...

I forgot to make a shadow list this year. My crowdsourced list submission has at least 2 though, Diana Athill and Lyndon LaRouche.

I counted it and I have 8 hits until now, most of them aren't really famous.

Their names (in list order): Andrew McGahan, Le Duc Anh, George Fernandes, Li Rui, Diana Athill, Jean from Luxembourg, Shivakumara Swami and Bishop Francis Quinn

Le Duc Anh also puts me at 4. The Duke is a big miss though.

Before I started deadpooling I had never heard of him. Whilst Royalty is a legitimate pick there was always someone more famous.
