I'm on 12 now Leah Bracknell has passed...

Sorry, give me a moment...

I'm not crying, you're crying.

Anyway, my total the past couple of years at the end of the year was 13. Looks like I'm on course for the fucking same.

As I was starting my shadowlist, I was wondering : the celebrities that I pick has to have an obit in an english speaking newspaper or a french obit is sufficient ? (as I’m french)

some celebrities on the deathlist won’t have any obit un France : do I have to play by the rules given By the official DL or can I use french celebrities with minor international notoriety ?

It is meant to shadow the main deathlist so you should follow the same rules that it does. However, shadow lists aren’t necessarily meant for competition and you could really do whatever you like. It’s really just to see how you’d perform under the same circumstances against the list.

Jean Heywood (I missed the notice of her death in September) and Clive James brings my total hits for the year to 14. Still (only just) managing to stay ahead of the committee. Curiously :scratchhead: the committee and I only have 3 hits in common - Herman Wouk, Robert Mugabe and Clive James; that's the wonder and randomness of death for you :axe:.

Been nearly a year since I uploaded my 2019 list so I just checked them now (see signature)

10 hits this year so better than my miserable 8 last year. One more to match my record of 11 in 2017 and 2 more to beat it. Now to assemble my 2020 list :scratchhead:

I know some of you soon will start to post your 2020 Shadowlist, and as such I will remind you that you can definitely submit an entry for the crowdsource list via shadowlist. Just remember to make note of the fact that you intend to make submission for the crowdsource list whenever you post your shadowlist hear...

I already have a shadow list ready, but I won’t post it until after the closing of the crowdsource period, as I want to avoid any influence on folk who might want to submit an entry for the crowdsource list...

Decided on my Nifty Fifty for 2020.

My list does not include Prince Pip, however, he might make it if one of my current batch drops before 2020. Will be posted here on Jan 1.
