The dance model of snow white from the 1937 film Marge Champion is 96 on 2nd September.She also modelled for the Blue fairy in Pinocchio and the hippo in Fantasia.

I can imagine the reaction from most women if you asked them to be the model for a hippo...

Paul De Rolf, the choreographer, dancer and actor best known for his work on The Seven Little Foys, The Ten Commandments, Petticoat Junction and Steven Spielberg's 1941 has died, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. He was 74.

De Rolf passed away Thursday in Australia from Alzheimer's disease.

Janine Charrat, a leading French ballerina and later choreographer, has died aged 93. She is perhaps most famous for the way in which her dancing career almost ended in 1961, where her tutu caught fire during a television recording of Les Algues resulting in her suffering 70% burns.

Sean Lavery, one of New York City Ballet’s busiest and most acclaimed dancers until a spinal tumor sidelined him in 1986, died on Monday in Palm Springs, Calif., where he had lived in recent years. He was 61.  His sister Anne Alsedek confirmed his death. The cause was not given.

Donald McKayle, one of the first choreographers to weave the African-American experience into the fabric of modern dance and the first black man to direct and choreograph a Broadway musical (“Raisin”), died on Friday at a hospital near his home in Irvine, Calif. He was 87.   His wife (!!!) confirmed the death. He was a professor of dance at the University of California, Irvine, for almost 30 years.
