Good point Raskolnikov, but yer man Lovelock sounded very chipper on Radio Four this morning. In fact, I found myself wondering how old he was, guessing he sounded around 70. He may well make 100.

101 and still appearing in videos about that time he microwaved some hamsters.

Big name in my country because of her books. Death was mentioned by the yellow press websites even before posted here on DL and was mentioned on the YLE (largest media here) tv news.

I have a relative who has read some of her books.

Alan Dean Foster likes to update his blog exactly on the 1st of each month. For July, he updated that he went back into the gym again. A little weak because of chemo, but he "refuses to concede his age":

The two writers who gave us Logan's Run are both still with us and worthy of future consideration William F Nolan (b.1928) and George Clayton Johnson (b.1929).

William F Nolan seems to have died back on 15th July according to this: http://file770.com/william-f-nolan-1928-2021/

IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0634368/

I'm going to guess he's a DDP pick? Edit: Nope, he's not and doesn't ever appear to have been a pick! George Clayton Johnson died in 2015.

Mo Hayder, Queen of Fear, has died at age 59 from motor neurone disease.

Sad, I have read several of her books.

Died only seven months after diagnosis, it says.   That seems remarkably fast.

I read some of her books, but although the Caffrey ones were supposed to be "standalone" within the series, I found that if read out of order they were full of spoilers which could easily have been avoided.

My favourite author no one comes close imo :( . Tokyo /devil of Nanking will always be one of my most favourite books closely followed by The treatment. The treatment is terrifying especially as a parent. Her mind for horror was so unique and deprived (in a good way).

Heard she has her final book being released in 2022, shall pre order it ASAP.
