There won't be an EU in 15 years time

In 15 years time, if you're still on this forum, I hope to make fun of this prediction.

What will it take to cancel this who Brexit?

Another referendum, most likely, but it doesn't look like the powers to be are going to opt for it.

Lol at Corbyn.

But he had no choice but to call the Vote.

It was too early. If TM opts for no deal there are a number of Remain Tories who would resign the whip. At that point he might get a deal to pass though they would probably abstain rather than vote against.

I was hoping that the vote would be successful.

A general election on top of everything would be brilliant.

A Corbyn government would be wonderful.

He would bankrupt the country within three years.

Fantastic!!:D

The FA Cup 3rd round replay on BBC1 will be still in the first half of extra time by then. Not going well for her, is it?

Eh. This rather demonstrates that the demographic change is far from the only factor in changing attitudes to Brexit, since the latest poll has Remain beating Leave by a record 56 : 44 per cent.

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/brexit-news-latest-support-for-staying-in-eu-hits-highest-level-since-referendum-as-56-per-cent-say-a4041406.html?fbclid=IwAR0xYlTICQI-2JYx-2foDYpaiVQS9JMHaOK8ndbrSq9l5uej2xRKdKOosr0

No wonder that diehard Brexiters fear a second referendum.

I see May won her confidence vote 52-48% and everyone seems to respect the result.

Yet another creative solution to Brexit: let Scotland and NI stay in the EU, snd let England and Wales leave https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/jan/17/semi-brexit-england-wales-leaving-eu-solution

Divide and conquer . Why didn't the EU respect the vote of the catalan people? The brexit vote or the treaty votes they made the irish and dutch vote for constantly. How long before expressing a view to leave the EU gets you an international arrest warrant and put in jail on trumped up charges? They did that to the leaders of catalonia for peacefully and democratically trying to leave, what's one more small step of suppression? The EU doesn't seem to respect the votes of the european people haven't you noticed that isn't that and alarming trend?

The thing is, the EU couldn't intervene with Spain on behalf of the Catalans, because that was an issue over which Spain had national sovereignty. And any attempt to change the rules so they could intervene would be sure to be vetoed by Spain, among other countries.

It's fair to say that the Catalonians have not been treated well, and their democratic wishes have not been respected... but this is an issue with the Madrid gvt, not Brussels.

On that logic lets fuck London off with them as their citizens voted to remain and its population is bigger ( or thereabouts ) than Scotland and NI combined.

Sounds good to me.

That wasn't really the point he was making.

Granted, it was a sovereignty issue but, I suspect, his point is about the thundering silence that came from Brussels over it.

They COULD have offered the Spanish and Catalan Governments arbitration, asked Madrid to not jackboot their way to Barcelona but they did nowt really.

3,500?

Almost the same number as the police officers that are on standby to head to Norn (mainly from Scotland).

I wonder if, having survived a VoNC, Tezza is still going to sell out the DUP and Norn Ireland. Heard summat about a re-negotiation of the Good Friday Agreement.

So think it seems a resurgent IRA. Maybe a thread should be opened on the Irish Question...something I thought would never happen again in my lifetime.

Just found out the old man, despite living, working and paying his taxes in this country since 1971, will have to apply to stay here after 2021. I honestly fucking despair.

One of those who has the honour of paying 65 quid in order to continue paying his taxes and rates...

It's a fucking outrage. I saw a guy on the telly yesterday, born to German parents and lived here his entire life. Pay 65 quid or get deported, sunshine. Somebody should get legal aid and take this to the Supreme Court.
