OOHH, a legal first - 45 year old Jennifer Crumbley guilty of involuntary manslaughter for failing to stop her son killing four of his classmates: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-68223118

It will get appealed, I'm sure of it. Now, if a court will be willing to say she's not guilty is another matter entirely...

And yet we still can't get gun reform though either the House or Senate. I'll just send her thoughts and prayers.

Why oh why can't people just let people live their lives in peace!  Why can we not get together as a community to have a little fun and joy without the worry of people's lives threaten. Ridiculous the world we live in and have to bring up children to see such evil

So ISIS vs Putin. Is it wrong to want both of them to lose?

Mass confusion, mind

Can't trust half the claims online and Putin's already indicating Ukraine had a "window" of safety for the attackers to flee - current newsfeed at the Beeb doing their best to sort the gems from the shite: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/world-68642036

Knife killer in the german town of Solingen, famous for its knives, breaking news right now, info is yet scarce:

Bild reports several deaths and many injuries. It also describes the perpetrator as Arab looking. (Language that would not normally be used in a British paper) https://www.bild.de/news/inland/messer-amok-in-solingen-mehrere-menschen-bei-stadtfest-getoetet-641fe8c9d020c344f0b8ee09

Honestly, I think it's the wise thing to do in this scenario. The method of hiding it when a Muslim does something bad only makes the situation worse (Rotherham, Cologne  Dublin and Southport where it lead to people incorrectly assuming it was a Muslim and targeting them). The lesson from all these is to rip the bandaid off.

Not sure what's wrong with it.  In English we would probably say "of Middle Eastern appearance" which is a bit less specific.
