Donald J Trump

He’s already shouting about the election he hasn’t even lost yet:

He’s going to refuse to stand down when he loses, isn’t he? Just what America needs, a huge constitutional crisis.

Trump says at rally.

"When you do testing... you are going to find more people, you will find more cases," he told attendees in Tulsa, Oklahoma. "So I said to my people: 'Slow the testing down.'"

The White House later said his comments were meant as a joke.

(again)

Maybe the American people could come together and say yes, we elected him, but it was only a joke.

Didn't hear any laughter, mind

Usually you'd follow up such shit comedy with advice not to give up the day job - in this case, however...

Yes Donald. Instead, we want the sort of “High IQ person” that *checks notes* suggested nuking a hurricane to make it go away, thought out loud about injecting bleach to stop Coronavirus, and once said the Revolutionary Army took over airports in the 1700’s.

And your problem is?

I think Donald Trump might pull out of the election next month. It's now the only way to avoid defeat. Its the sort of shocker he would do, depriving Joe Biden of his now inevitable landslide victory. I'm putting money on a shock announcement at the republican convention that he's quitting.

The second his presidential power is gone it'll be a free for all among his top aides for tell-all book deals and the like. The outpouring that followed the fall of Richard Nixon will be dwarfed by the media circus that'll seek to tell-all on Trump. He knows his power keeps people looking loyal and won't want to walk away. Well, that's my humble opinion anway.

He might just resign in November in case he loses so that Pence becomes President and instantly pardons him.

If he resigns that late what guarantee is there Pence could win? There are other Republican heavyweights who have little time for Pence's politics so the first problem the party would face would be quelling the infighting and looking like they were fit to organize a campaign. In those circumstances they could be struggling to convince hundreds of millions of voters they could be trusted with running a country.

Pence would still be President until January. There is doubt over whether a President can pardon themselves; but they can certainly pardon an ex-President

Note that they can't pardon state offences though; and there's a huge stack of NY State cases piling up.

I am still convinced Trump will win.

Honestly it doesnt matter what Trump does or says anymore, this year's choice of who is president is just as shit as 2020. Trump will not win because of Trump, but I think he will win because of Biden. The Dems just dont get it, they keep drifting off further and further left to the point where social-political issues override economic issues. Plus you've got a guy running against Trump who has been in politics for 50 years, hes not going to offer any significant change. Joe is erratic, racist and stupid - to a much larger extent than Trump. People dont realise this because the Mainstream Media is too focused on Trump to report on him - they want Trump to lose so badly that they are happy to get this racist dope with dementia in office to replace him. (For those who dont get my point about Biden's racism, you really dont have to go back that far to hear him calling people n*ggers or telling black people who dont vote democrat that they 'aint black').

Again, Trump will not win because of Trump - he will win because the Dems are so out of touch with the American people. I reckon if they had chosen Sanders, Gabbard or Yang then Trump would be fucked right now.

You show very little understanding of US politics in that post if I may be so bold. Joe Biden has been a centrist throughout his career. He's always been popular among the unions that are vital to winning the rust belt in the Midwest  that killed Hillary's chances 4 years ago. Sanders and Gabbard are vastly to the left of Biden - Sanders wants medicare for all and a green new deal. I don't know enough about Yang to comment.

I think it's perfectly plausible that Trump wins again. I also don't think Biden was the strongest candidate this time around by a long way. But your argument seems to revolve around the Democrats being too left wing and out of touch with the American people, and then in the same breath suggest that Sanders and Gabbard are more in touch with the American people - seriously? This is a country that sees socialists in the same way as anarchists.

There is also no way that Biden is more 'erratic, racist and stupid' than Trump. He was a longtime member of both the Senate Judiciary Committee and Senate Foreign Relations Committee, serving as Chairman of both and ranking member in between (when the Democrats didn't hold power). He was also Vice President for 8 years without serious incident. He has always had the ability to put his foot in it and has some very unhelpful views on race (as you'd expect from a nearly 78 year old white man) but his opponent promotes white supremacist content and has been recorded bragging about sexual assault. Compared to a competent politician, Biden comes some way down the list of desirable presidents (he barely got out of the starting gates on two previous runs for President) but compared to Trump, Biden is like manna from heaven, which is more a damning indictment of what Trump has done to the presidency than it is of what Biden brings to the table. Who'd have thought we'd look back on the days of Dubya with fondness?

Jesus you completely looked over everything I've discussed. He is clearly a racist and he is clearly a dope that likes groping young children and women - but I guess thats your idea of 'manna from heaven'... And yes I'm sure you'd love GWB back, tell that to the families of the soldiers who died in Iraq.

Just look into Joe Biden from any non-left wing source and you'll see what I am talking about...
