Shaun`s Death By Numbers 2016I

Recommended Posts

Bill Cardille dead at 87, hit for SC

Also, I am very intrigued about your idea of the 01-99 deadpool, although the question of morality comes into play with 1999 births (we usually don't do minors). I'm also suggesting playing to a certain number of deaths (e.g. 50) or creating a time limit so that we will at least live to see the victor.

Yeah that was a grey area and I dont think it would work very well as would go on for many many years.Tried to compile a list of my own earlier and it was too tough.Especially when you get to many of the post 1970 years where you might as well pick a name out of a hat.

Something really seems amiss with the scoreboard but I've no time to sort it out. Oh sure there's a little quantity vs quality going on, but not to the tune of 100s of points with three people. I've now got an unprecedented* NINETEEN HITS there no fahkin way anyone within 5 of that, yet mired in a non-competitive 4th place?

What EVVAH.

SirCreep

*meaning no one in the history of this website has likely had more, and it's fahkin JULY.

Um, if you actually did some research, you'd know that DDT has like 25 hits.

As Shaun is a bit busy at the moment, stewards inquiry from a friendly busybody.

Is there something amiss with the scoreboard?

Well, here is the scores for the top four as it stands, with working:

Chorizo = 1331

  1. Susannah Mushatt Jones (joker) – 99 x 2

  17. Rob Ford - 69
  18. Robert F Dorr - 39
  19. Bryan Weidmeier - 59
  20. Phil Sly – 59
  21. Jade Pateman 93
  22. Lady Susan Renouf - 42

Sir Creep = 969

  1. Rene Angelil - 42

  4. Jenny Diski - 47
  5. Bob Ellis - 42
  6. Peter Esterhazy - 50

  8. Joey Feek - 75
  9. Rob Ford -69
  10. Pat Harrington Jr -29
  11. John Jay Hooker - 30
  12. Howard Marks - 45

Death Impends = 1063

  1. Rene Angelil - 42
  2. Martin Crowe - 62
  3. Johan Cruyff - 47
  4. Jenny Diski - 47
  5. Peter Esterhazy - 50
  6. Mark Farren - 82
  7. Jeoy Feek - 75
  8. Rob ford - 69
  9. Susan Renouf – 42
  10. Pat Harrington Jr - 29
  11. Susannah Mushatt Jones (joker) 99 x 2
  12. Tom Libous - 53

  14. Howard Marks - 45
  15. Andrew Smith - 90
  16. Kris Travis - 83
  17. Abe vigoda - 21

DDT - 1499

  1. Joey Feek – 75
  2. Jenny Diski - 47
  3. Phil Gartside - 52
  4. Kris Travis - 83
  5. Martin Crowe - 62
  6. Louise Plowright - 56
  7. Peter Esterhazy - 50
  8. Bonnie Brown - 38
  9. Eric Lubbock - 28
  10. Rob ford - 69
  11. Thomas Fekete - 89
  12. Ronald Mulkearns- 30
  13. Aden Hailu (joker) – 95 x 2
  14. Rene Angelil - 42
  15. Rev Sandy McDonald - 37
  16. Peter Maxwell Davis - 34
  17. Howard Marks - 45
  18. Dan Haggerty - 42

  20. Abdul Sattar Edhi - 28
  21. Johann Cruyff - 47
  22. Julien Hoferlin - 66
  23. Mark Farren - 82
  24. Padnit Shakhar Ghosh - 35
  25. Big Ang - 60
  26. Alftredo Armenteros- 28
  27. Susan Renouf - 42

The numbers are a bit off because I added Cardile and Renouf. Although I double counted Chorizo and came 200 points ahead, so even discounting crap maths you might want to double check that as it sounds like someone's been forgotten.

Sir Creep is disadvantaged by picking the wrong 117 year old to be his joker. However, DDT picked neither, and is currently standing at 27/50 in July.

Chorizo has 22/50, in July.

Death Impends has a mere 17/50 (hah), but is a fairly astute chooser.

All four teams have done very well, really, but the thing is, DDT is a monster at these games. The Ideas for Next year thread was once jokingly called Ideas for Mid-August years ago because of how often DDT would highlight a person whose health was hitherto unknown to be gravely ill, only for them to then snuff it within days/weeks. He is scarily good at these things.

Next year for this game I'm definitely making my team near exclusively my DDP team/people who I considered for it since given the amount of names that died on both ends this year, I'd probably be in the lead if I went with that instead of "half people who are ill, half people who are old and interesting". I'd still have a spot for June Foray though.

That "hah" was more at my use of a "mere 17" rather than at your expense. I didn't pick DDP people either, next year I should just give Shaun my team by PM if he runs it again.

There's nothing quite like a pedantic Scot making a point.

Really? I would like to thank you for this jinx on behalf of the 2016 Pan Breed DDP team.

Yeah, figured as such, but my comment was more in response to how insane DDT's performance is for this year.

Here are a list of the deaths since the last update. Please let me know if any are missing.Have not included Al Baghdadi as his death has not been officially confirmed.I need to sort out a few queries with regards to Jiroemon Kimura`s score as I seem to have miscounted it.I also need to look it to some other entries that have queried my counting up of the points.

Hi Shaun - you haven't given me my points for Muhammad Ali.

If that's not reason for the difference then if you check my post on page 1 you will see I have noted all my scores and yuo can add them up yourself and find the difference.

I should have been on 724 on this update and now Dr Kate has nudged me into the 800s but I think that was after this last update.

Gene Wilder has died sadly but from a selfish point of view that's some points for me.

You heartless bastard!I will try and do an update tomorrow. If not then it will be on Wednesday.Have made a few mistakes in last updates so having to rectify them.It is a bit like mucking up a Sudoku and working back.

Maybe we should make the massive update when Shaun comes back easier by gathering a large list of celebrities who were on our teams when we hit instead of having him go throughout the entire master list
