DL Prediction Game

Recommended Posts

Don't call it off. I think many of us are waiting for Boxing Day for that to happen.

Sorry, should have been clearer... I would only call it off if by the deadline of December 30th i wont have atleast 2 entries...

You'll be fine, probably Christmas Day/Boxing Day and I'll pm my entry as promised.

Ok, so I have sent you 50 names (plus one sub if needed) which I predict will be on next year's Deathlist.

To be honest, I think a podium finish might not happen - I'd be amazed if I even get the 21/50 I got last year.

Hopefully several players will enter this game, my credibility as a pretty poor predictor was almost ruined by coming third last year!

(Mind you, my entry here is just ahead of the current Deathlist in terms of hits - how'd that happen?)

Entered a team for the hell of it. An automatic 7 point deduction will swiftly follow due to my long held faith in the Committee's ability to pick Robert Hardy.

Well, good luck, cause you have to pm the team to him. FYI, that football player is Bart Starr. Also, only 11 returning from the previous year. Yeah, not gonna happen.

I just like trying to guess who will be #1 and #50.

I'd really like to say Glen Campbell but that's not the way the Committee thinks. So let's try this:

1. Reverand Billy Graham

.

.

.

50. Ginger Baker

I think he's talking about King Michael of Russia who died back in 1645.

Who the fuck's King Michael? King Michael of Barnstaple? King Michael of Wallagong? King Michael, King of the Road? Who the fuck's King Michael?

Michael King has an enviable reputation in the charity sector, and frequently acts for religious orders associated with schools. Sources remark on "the gravitas he brings from many years advising on developments affecting education clients." - Chambers 2016

Michael King is renowned for being one of the leading charities lawyers in the market, with one source describing him as a "grandee." Others say he is "incredibly experienced, has come up against every problem there is, and is very user-friendly." - Chambers 2016

He was the first solicitor to be appointed by the Charity Commission as Interim Manager of a charity in serious difficulties and has held 6 such appointments, including Al-Fatiha Global and Nottinghamshire Miners Home.

He retired as Chairman of Stone King LLP in 2014 and is now a working Consultant in the firm’s Charity & Social Enterprise team. He lives in Bath and divides his working time between Bath and London.

He was Chairman of the Charity Law Association from 1997 to 2000 and is recognised by Chambers Directory and the Legal 500 as a leader in charity law. He regularly speaks and writes on charity matters. He is co-author with Ann Phillips of Charities Act 2006 – Guide to the New Law (Law Society 2007).

He is Chairman of Governors of Prior Park Schools and its 4 schools, a trustee of the Holburne Museum of Art and a trustee of several grant-making charities.

I've submitted the first 50 names that came to my head. I can't remember who those people are, but if they're not on the DL next year, the committee ought to be ashamed.

As long as I do better than Morbidkid then I'll be reasonably happy.
