The point of that piece on radio this morning was to celebrate Jimmy's 80th birthday

:birthday:

There goes another point, then.

Spurs confirm that Jimmy is currently being treated in hospital, no further details at this point, which in itself is probably not a good sign.

Looks like taking him off the list is about to backfire on the committee!

I was scratching my head when I didn’t see him on the list this year. Seems like it’s going to be a bad miss

Yeah, along with Gorbachev and a few others  really a head scratcher on why he was taken off...

I keep forgetting that him and Loretta Lynn aren't on this years list, among a couple of others.

Was a mild surprise when I saw this thread pop up in the main forum.

A baffling mistake in my opinion.

Sounds omnious - through why get Spurs to announce his hospitalisation if he is already dead (which is what that implies).

I believe the removal of Loretta Lynn from the deathlist will prove to be an error.

Yes, dropping Greaves (and maybe Gorbachev in the circumstances) were the two oddest dropping decisions they made.

My biggest issue with this year's list... it's definitely good, but ah, it could have been great, i.e. record-breaking.

Hmmm

Covid-19 might give the committee an easy ride regarding a record breaking number of hits yet. Loads of very old people in that top 50, with or without Greavsie and they've all got lots of year left in which they have to get lucky every day.

Not only very old but the vast majority with pre-existing health conditions. Could be a record breaking number.

One of the reason I don’t think there will be hits due to covid.

Yeah - a lot of the very old on the list are being cared at home by private nurses not care homes.

Rich Americans often hire low-wage plebs to pick up stuff, clean their toilets etc.

I'd say there'll be Covid-19 cases in the final DL reckoning at the end of the year.

But probably have locked their staff in and got hold off PPE quicker than everyone else.

Could be worse in a way. He's in Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford, one of those in the news for being inundated with coronavirus cases. How ill do you need to be to be given a hospital bed at a coronavirus hit hospital right now without the virus? Very ill indeed, I'd guess.
