Sir Creep 7,012 Posted August 4, 2015 Florida Rep. Carlos Curbelo has been diagnosed with whooping cough, a rare and contagious disease that is officially known as pertussis. The freshman Republican has been ill for several weeks with the disease, which still sickens thousands each year. He was diagnosed on Monday. Curbelo, 35, was vaccinated as a child, his office says, but did not received recommended booster shots as an adult. Guest Guest Posted August 13, 2015 Apparantely there was until today only 3 surviving candidates from the 1945 general election. 2 of them are Denis Healey and Jeremy Hutchinson (coincidentally the 2 oldest members of the house of lords ). Jo Ann Emerson, CEO of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, suffered a brain hemorrhage and had surgery while vacationing with her family in Italy. She is in stable condition, according to her former congressional chief of staff Jordan Bernstein. He was also chair of Burlington's Planning Commission for more than a decade. According to his obituary in the Burlington Free Press, the World War II veteran died Thursday at a senior living community in Shelburne. He was 93. Denise Marshall has died according to some recent tweets. Although she was on my DDP team, it's sad to see her go, as from what I understand about her, she was a highly regarded and very principled campaigner, who made a real difference to the lives of many people who have experienced domestic violence. Sir Teddy Taylor is definitely one to keep an eye on. As an aside, it does strike me that female British former MPs don't have a great record of living to very old age.
