Clifford A. Goldman, New Jersey treasurer from 1976 to 1982 and a major architect of the state’s first income tax, died Sunday at his Ewing Township home. The cause was leukemia. He was 75.

Just me or shouldn't Treasurer be capitalized.  It's an important enough gig.   I'm sure the paper said 'According to Treasurer Goldman' back in the day.  Maybe not.  Anyway....

For completeness Morocco Prime Minister (three terms) Mohammed Karim Lamrani has died aged 99. As you can see in the photo attached to the article, he was also a KKK Wizard.

Despite the medical team efforts to keep him alive, Vietnamese president Tran Dai Quang has died aged 61 at 108 Military Hospital in Hanoi,  near to the ward in which former president Le Duc Anh and Prime Minister Do Muoi are hospitalized.

There's a saying in Italy, "When you believe the old sheep is dying, the lamb dies". That's pretty much the case.

If Lady Di married President Dai, we could ask 'Did Di Dai Die?'

Or vice versa.

Apparently Tran's death was received in Vietnam by manifestations of joy and satisfaction all across Vietnam. According to the article people are really tired with the old Communist regime and are actually waiting for Do Muoi and Le Duc Anh, whose deaths would bring joyful manifestations in the country (I'm not joking, read the article, I'm not the only one!).

Besides deadpooling Vietnam has really changed during these last years. If this would have happened after Ho Chi Minh or Le Duan deaths thousands would have been executed. Communist days are probably coming to an end and the party is reckoning that.

I read in another article that Tran Dai Quang had an autoritarian way of ruling which interfered wih private life of citizens and he was not very liked among other party members so I wouldnt be surprised if he was actually poisoned.

Kathleen Blanco at some public event, suffering from severely orange skin, just like all those around her:

The Univ of Louisiana-Lafayette (by SirC's house) was naming some building after her.  Could be everyone's skin is orange due to overindulgence of crawfish and hot sauce.  The people photographed are a virtual Who's Who of the SOLA (southern LA) power structure/politics, most notably Mary Landrieu and John Breuax -- and plenty of other 'eaux' surnames to wrap your head around.

With the recent deaths of Bejing Mayor Lin Huja and Henan governor Liu Jie there are now only 6 living members of the original Communist Party Central Committee.

*Li Rui (1917): Mao Zedong's secretary, has been in hospital since the beginning of April with multiple organ failure. Profiled by BBC before as an important dissident.

*Jiao Ruoyu (1915): Former Mayor of Bejing and still serves as a Communist Congressman.

*Yuan Baohua (1916): President of Renmin University and defined "The Legend of the Century" by Chinese media.

*Wan Haifeng (1920): General of PLA and Deputy. Considered a hero of war, took part to WW2, Chinese civil war and Korean war, as the commander of Chinese troops aligned with North Korea.

*Li Lian (1920): Minor name.

*Su Yiran (1918): Another secondary name.

Plus, though he was not in the original Committee, State Councillor and Politburo member Song Ping (1917) is still alive. Song Ping is responsible for expelling from the party all members who supported Tienanmen protests in 1989. A real dick.

Former Massachusetts State Senator Brian Joyce was found dead inside his Westport home Thursday.   Joyce's wife found the body at the couple's home.  Officials say they do not suspect foul play and added the investigation is active and ongoing.
Joyce was arrested last December and was facing federal charges.  He was accused of using his political office for personal gain, taking up to $1 million in bribes and kickbacks from companies and using his Canton law office to launder the money.  The FBI raided that office in 2016.  After a two year investigation, the U.S. Attorney's indictment alleged Joyce "used his Senate office as a criminal enterprise."

Joyce was involved in a single-car accident in Westport on Wednesday. The DA's office has confirmed the accident will be part of their overall investigation but it's unclear if it is connected to his death

Joyce was elected in 1998 and was a state senator for nearly two decades. He had recently moved to Westport after deciding not to seek re-election.

Sounds like a necktie party to me.  Good riddance.

Journalists of Vietnamnet have reached the 108 Military Hospital to visit Do Muoi. Finally, the situation is clearer. Do Muoi was admitted to hospital in April after he had persistent fever. Currently he can't speak because doctors opened his trachea to let him breathe. He is being treated for pulmonary disease and kidney failure. Though he can't speak he listen to the news every day and hospital staff guarantees he can understand.

Don't worry, they are reading him his daily dose of Deathlist Forum posts. "Mr Muoi, you wont believe what Mr Drol has posted. No, stop laughing it is bad for your recovery, even if you are immortal..."

I love Google Translate.

According to Phan Trong Kinh, the current health of former General Secretary Do Muoi was much better when he was just a few months old.
