Political Frailty

Recommended Posts

Apparently former Finnish prime minister and counselor of state Paavo Lipponen (born 1941, served as PM from 1995 to 2003) has had heart problems for multiple years, had a heart attack in 2017 and had to be operated 7 times and according to his wife, is now in such a frail condition that she can't visit him. I'm almost sure Lipponen won't see his 80th birthday.

Famously called for Nixon to resign. And then much later Trump.

Not a DDP pick, doesn't seem to have ever been picked.

tbh I kept thinking he was already dead. Think I'm mixing him up with the sole Republican Senator to vote for impeachment as Gorton had a government role outside the Senate at Watergate.

Let's be honest, I can't even remember all the people I suggested myself.

Former US Senate majority leader George Mitchell has leukemia:

If it's acute leukemia, I imagine it could be over pretty fast.

Well he was on Epstein's Island multiple times, might as well get the long lasting suffering then.

He is now the longest-governing PM of Japan. Time for a successor?

My rule of thumb is if they've done 10 year's it's time to book their leaving do!It all goes downhill after that.Mind you it all went downhill for Boris after about 10 minutes!:facepalm:

Former Ukraine PM Yulia Tymoshenko is in 'poor health' according to a Ukrainian Human Rights group.

No clarification on the nature of the illness but according to President Viktor Yanukovich "... the system (of medical treatment in jail) … is not up to the required standards. So this treatment or medical services will have to be provided in medical institutions in Kiev, in the coming days, either today or tomorrow,"

Yulia Tymoshenko, whose health has never been great since the whole imprisonment on dubious charges thing, is now in a serious condition with covid.

Irish nationalist politician and TD, Peadar Tóibín, leader of the Aontú Party (a group of disaffected ex-Sinn Fein members), is suffering from skin cancer.

Interestingly, the anglicized version of his name makes him the namesake of the DDP's favourite serial killer, Peter Tobin.

Now she is in intensive care and on life support, has to be ventilated. Her condition has worsened in the past 24 hours.
