Would have been a popular pick in the Advent avalanche.

And he actually IS a DDP pick for the always curious Theme Team "Not Gone Yet, but Still Forgotten". However, because of his illnesses, the forum actually didn't forget him.

Day five of Khaleda Zia's "fighting for life" has started, she's still in CCU. Recently had an endoscopy and has apparently received a blood transfusion.

https://bdnews24.com/politics/2021/11/21/doctors-see-little-improvement-in-khaleda-zias-condition

Edit: Improving. Also doesn't have cirrhosis but she does have "liver complications"

https://www.tbsnews.net/bangladesh/politics/khaleda-zias-condition-very-critical-fakhrul-334030

Khaleda Zia's condition "very critical" and isn't responding to treatment. Bangladesh Police are currently on high alert according to many sources.

Has been really tough (if she's as ill as they report her to be)

If she dies during the next hours, days or weeks the country could slide into chaos.

Edit: https://www.newagebd.net/article/155613/khaleda-zias-condition-very-critical-bnp

Visited by health activist Zafrullah Chowdhury who says that "It cannot be said how many days Khaleda Zia will live" and that she's being kept alive with blood transfusions.

Magana died in 2020 and Colonel Yanes Urias was apparently born in 1920 (reported to be 40 at the time of the coup, too) and seems to be this man, atleast the name and birth date match and someone in the comments says he's the guy:

*snip*

Rubén Alonso Rosales is another case that's giving me a headache. Born 1925, probably dead already. Mentioned to have died in 2000 on some sites.

All the other four 1960-61 junta members are confirmed to be dead.

Give your headache a rest. Have a newspaper obit:

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen (1952-) Prime Minister 1984-, former Khmer Rouge fighter and now a dictator. Partially blind from war injuries, stroke-ish face in an UN speech in September 2021.

There was some talk about Prime Ministers/Presidents outliving their cabinets in the Carter thread. Toshiki Kaifu (b. 1931) Japanese Prime Minister 1989-1991 has outlived nearly all of his cabinet except, according to his cabinet's Japanese wiki page:

Taro Nakayama (b. 1924) Foreign Affairs minister

Michihiko Kano (b. 1942) Minister of Agriculture

Hikaru Matsunaga (b. 1928) Trade and Industry minister

Mayumi Moriyama (b. 1927) Chief Cabinet secretary

Hajime Ishii (b. 1934)

Both Kano and Moriyama have died since this post.

"Štrougal and Vajnar will not be prosecuted for shooting at the border, the public prosecutor's office decided

18. 5. 2021

The suspension of the prosecution of the former top representatives of the communist regime, Lubomír Štrougal and Vratislav Vajnar, which concerned the use of firearms on the Czechoslovak border, is final. The decision was made by the Municipal Public Prosecutor's Office in Prague, which agreed with the experts' conclusion that both the former Prime Minister and the former Minister of the Interior suffer from a mental illness that makes it impossible for them to understand the meaning of criminal proceedings.

Strougal is ninety-six years old and Vajnar is ninety years old. The Police Office for the Documentation and Investigation of the Crimes of Communism (ÚDV) began prosecuting them in November 2019. He blamed the men for the abuse of power, for which they threatened two to ten years in prison. The office also accused the former general secretary of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, Miloš Jakeš, who subsequently died at the age of 97."

Google translator isn't perfect but this article gives me the picture that Lubomír Štrougal is so senile that he doesn't understand why he was accused of crimes (or is faking it)

https://www.ceskenoviny.cz/zpravy/zalobci-musi-znovu-rozhodnout-o-strougalovi-a-vajnarovi/2127193

Turns out that the experts who did the report on the health of Lubomír Štrougal and Vratislav Vajnar were both connected with the communist regime and were likely biased. Seems like there's also newly found evidence against these two.
