According to Wikipedia former British mp Bill Pitt has died aged 80. He was the first mp to go under the SDLP liberal alliance  banner. 

He won the Croydon North West by election in 1981.

There are reports tonight that a 'senior member' of the Labour party has committed suicide after  coming under investigation for alleged sexual abuse. Nobody has been named but the most obvious person is MP Ivan Lewis who was suspended this week  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-42098762 It might not be him though.

The senior member was in his 30s, Ivan Lewis is 50 so it's not him.
