Saw the 50th Anniversary screening of 'The Godfather' last weekend, and saw the screening of 'The Godfather Part II' this week. Seen both before many times but seeing them on the big screen was superb, both absolute masterpieces. I'll be back next weekend for 'Part III', which is still a fair watch if not as good as the first two. Anyway, got me thinking about the cast, with many already gone and others seriously getting on. Here's a list of the casts from the first two films:

The Godfather

Marlon Brando (Don Vito Corleone) - 1924-2004

Al Pacino (Michael Corleone) - b. 1940 (82 in April), still working

Abe Vigoda (Sal Tessio) - 1921-2016

Talia Shire (Connie Corleone) - b. 1946 (76 in April),  most recent credit 2020

Gianni Russo (Carlo Rizzi) - b. 1943 (turned 78 in December)

John Cazale (Fredo Corleone) - 1935-1978

Rudy Bond (Don Cuneo) - 1912-1982

Al Martino (Johnny Fontaine) - 1927-2009

Morgana King (Mama Corleone) - 1930-2018

Angelo Infanti (Fabrizio) - 1939-2010

Franco Citti (Calo) - 1935-2016

Director: Francis Ford Coppola - b. 1939 (83 in April), still working

Writer: Mario Puzo - 1920-1999

Music: Nino Rota - 1911-1979

The Editors and Cinematographers are all deceased too.

Most of the supporting cast are now gone, but 4 of the 5 Corleone siblings are still going in their late 70s-early 90s, as is the director. I'll add the names from Part III next week.

Honestly...the search function on this thing is useless. I searched, it came up with the post about James Caan in Hollywood Possibilities, I thought, that'll do. Felt sure there should be a thread but hey ho.
