If still open mine is

You´re in. Good luck.

I think he's just trolling. His team is an exact replica of The Unknown Man's, and it even has fucking Feek and Crowe.

Indeed.

Not sure there is anything in the rules that prohibits me from submitting a team identical to that of another player?

None of the rules I posted forbid it, I didn't notice the problem (didn't read it all, actually) and wrote:

You´re in. Good luck.

so it looks like I painted myself in the corner here. If Deathray wants to play this team I cannot kick him out. For revenge I will not use subs on the team, though.

I assume you mean not allowing me to add any additional subs to the team, the two already submitted are surely fair?

I've asked myself this regarding the DDP as well. I mean, theoretically you could submit a team with those 10 "must-haves" and then 10 optional people, whose probability of dying isn't exactly 100%. Now, could you submit three teams with the same 10 "must-haves" but different optional people?

Yes, you can.

In this game, you need the perfect mix of people who are risky in terms of will they die but will obit in many languages (Bush, Phillip) and people who are dead certs but won't obit in many languages (Angelica, Diski).
Hopefully I have a decent combo.

Bhumibol Adulyadej
Mother Angelica
George H W Bush
Glen Campbell
Jimmy Carter
Johan Cruyff
Javier Perez de Cuellar
Jenny Diski
Kirk Douglas
Peter Esterhazy
Rob Ford
Zsa Zsa Gabor
Kate Granger

Joao Havelange
Olivia de Havilland
Susannah Mushatt Jones
Yoshiro Nakamatsu (joker)

Unfortunately, I posted my team a day or two before the grave state of Rob Ford's health was announced. If I had known he turned from a risky fifty-fifty to a near dead cert, I'd have made him my joker.

Good pick on the joker, so obvious and hidden in plain sight she never occured to me.

Did an approach similar to RadGuy, more or less. Some sure to die but probs not a lot of obits, some less likely to die but are obit pinatas once they do shuffle off, and some like Rob Ford and King Mike who are internationally-known certs.

Peter Esterhazy *JOKER*
Bhumibol Adulyadej
Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi
Muhammad Ali
Liliane Bettencourt
George H.W. Bush
Jimmy Carter
Vera Caslavska
Rob Ford
John Glenn
Goran Hadzic
Valerie Harper (was the alt, enters in Paul Daniels's place)
Anker Jorgensen
Helmut Kohl
Michal Kovac
Dilip Kumar
Michael of Romania
Atai Bihari Vajpayee
Joanne Woodward
Bernie Worrell

As noted in Political Frailty, Anker Jorgensen died today, so I've already got a hit. However I'll spare the thread of pandemonium and not start wrangling his obits till Hein's posted the master list.

Do we know Jorgensen's time of death? The equinox occured at 5:30 A.M. in Denmark today, so it is possible he died before the game started.

A bunch of uniques, and a sneak shot at nabbing a Gaelic obit. I'll take that.

I assume the over prompt Mr Daniels has been replaced by the first sub for those of us who had him.

The master list isn´t done yet, but it´s time for some sleep. More tomorrow.

Daniels has been replaced by subs, as far as named, as were Crowe and Feek, Deathray´s `team` excepted.

I think I've come up with a pretty solid team. Good luck to everyone else.

Although MH, why have you listed Joey Feek and Crowe in my team, I provided subs and there's a precedent for using them if people submit already dead people to a team (see DDP). I demand my subs are reinstated in place of the deceased.

He said that although he'd let you compete with a copycat theme, he'd punish you by not using your subs, so you compete with 18 people only.

It's not a copycat team. Also, he said not using subs, I thought that meant any additional substitutes. If I'd known that he wasn't going to use the subs he'd already provided I'd have asked to submit a new team. There's a very long precedent of teams with people who died, even years before rather than days as in this case, being submitted to a competition being removed by the game runner with the subs added in their place (see any other dead pool).

So does Jorgensen count? Is it necessary to provide obits for him?

Oh come on. You posted that team on 14 March. Martin Crowe died on 3 March and Joey Feek on 4 March.

You even posted comments on Crowe's thread on 4 March and Feek's on 5 March, so don't pretend you didn't know.

Guess since the masterlist is 95% done I'll dump the Jorgensen obits I could find here assuming he's counting, given the Ford fiesta ahead.
