gcreptile 10,964 Posted September 12, 2016 I picked Craig Lyons who made the news because he sued Thomas Cook for a missed 'last holiday' and won. Spade_Cooley 9,515 Posted September 17, 2016 And another name I'm sure the canniest of DDPers had this name pencilled in as a "please hold on": Ben Ellis, the cancer-stricken teacher who went viral recently due to a video of his students serenading him at his window, has died. Unsurprisingly, the Daily Mail come through with the QO.
gcreptile 10,964 Posted September 19, 2016 Another inspirational cancer blogger fails to make the starting line for 2017: @nn@ Sw@bey. Hmm, had her on my long list, with the comment that she was given to live until Jan. 2018... Meanwhile, one half of a real life "Fault in our Stars" couple named Dalton Prager, has died of cystic fibrosis. Against the medical advice of their doctors, these two patients of the same illness got together. The widow is currently in hospice care. http://www.foxnews.com/health/2016/09/19/husband-real-life-fault-in-our-stars-couple-has-died.html

Sir Creep 7,070 Posted October 1, 2016 Norma Jean Bauerschmidt, the grandmother who, after learning she had cancer, decided to eschew cancer treatment and instead went road trippin, has died. maryportfuncity 10,644 Posted October 1, 2016 Kirsty Keep - one of those perenielly ill and locally celebrated types - who is mentioned earlier in this thread did manage to get £60,000 raised to send her to the States where she got a proper diagnosis. Basically really ill but not likely to be so spectacularly threatened as to make a tragic "last Christmas" story in the press and offer us points a few weeks later. msc 18,437 Posted October 31, 2016 In more recent news on Kris Hallenga, her cancer started growing as liver and bone cancer this year and this is being treated with an unlicensed drug. This is on top of the repeat malignant brain tumours, prior treated liver cancer, and the whole terminal Stage IV breast cancer which she's survived for the last seven years. She's got more fight in her than an entire years scripts of Eastenders.
