Margot Honecker is 88

Nexhmije Hoxha is 95

I always remember Honecker when threads like this come up but forget about her again when compiling the dead pool.

Eden's a unique DDP pick for me. The bonus will go a little way to overcoming the dearth of points for one so old, assuming she does cash in in 2016

Awaiting confirmation...

Barely three days later Vito Kapo, widow of Hysni Kapo, high ranking Communist politician who was assassinated died of pancreatic cancer in 1979, is dead at 97. She was Minister of Industry in the 80s and probably the very last high ranking cadre of Hoxha regime.

It surprised me as she was in good health when interviewed late last year, and also commented on Hoxha's death a few days back. Now the only famous Albanian born in the 20s that springs to mind is former president Alfred Moisiu.

Thanks for dragging this thread back up

Reminds me Clarissa Eden will be 100 on 28 June - still hanging in there

We could - like - invade Suez (by way of a pub crawl) to celebrate her birthday

Three more names I've come across:

Petro Dode b. 1924, Chairman of the Assembly of Albania (1987–1991)
Pirro Kondi b. 1924, former MP and political prisoner
Foto Cami b. 1925, former Member of the Politiburo of the Labour Party

Naina Yeltsina 89 today.

I'm pretty suprised how only one out of these six has died during these five years
