Honestly shocked, it seemed that she was going to live forever.

Seems like an appropriate time for a reminder that Hiriart's "successor" as First Lady of Chile, Leonor Oyarzún (wiki) is still alive.

She survived a bout COVID-19, despite the fact we're told she's very ill. She'll be 103 in March, if she makes it that far.

An easy DDP death for next year, but question is will she get a QO? I reckon Hiriart will, but only because she was married to Pinochet.

DDP pick Valdas Adamkus visiting her and still in fine form.

Something about Alma Adamkiene here:

Her husband, former Lithuanian president Valdas Adamkus says that she hasn't completely recovered from the stroke she had in 2019, is weak uses a walker. Adamkus himself is in good health and still works.

Other notable political spouses not often mentioned anywhere:

Victoria Aguiyi-Ironsi (1923-2021) First Lady of Nigeria 1966, widow of Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi (1924-1966). Still seems to be healthy.

Aura Herzog (b. 1924) First Lady of Israel 1983-1993, widow of Chaim Herzog (1918-1997).

Aura Herzog, former First Lady of Israel 1983-1993 dead at 97. He was also the mother of the current president, Isaac Herzog.

Reuma Weizman, 96, is now the oldest former First Lady of Israel.

Leonor Oyarzún (wiki), Chile's First Lady from 1990 to 1994, is dead at 102.

A unique DDP pick. Her profile on the DDP says born in 1922, when she was actually born in 1919 so that will need changed.

Will she get a QO? Tough one.

I will be very surprised if she does.

@Gisooo, aren't you Albanian? Do you know if these individuals are living or deceased?

If there is one thing I know very well about my country, it is that Albanian celebrities never die off the radar as we are a small people compared to America and here everything is announced even though it cannot be posted on the Web. So far there is no news of their death, if there will be I will let you know

Barely three days later Vito Kapo, widow of Hysni Kapo, high ranking Communist politician who was assassinated died of pancreatic cancer in 1979, is dead at 97. She was Minister of Industry in the 80s and probably the very last high ranking cadre of Hoxha regime.

It surprised me as she was in good health when interviewed late last year, and also commented on Hoxha's death a few days back. Now the only famous Albanian born in the 20s that springs to mind is former president Alfred Moisiu.

Vito Kapo (Wiki) is the first person in Albania to be cremated after her death. The wish was for her ashes to be buried next to her husband Hysni Kapo (Wiki) in the cemetery of the village of Terbac in Vlora.   (Source)

@Ulitzer95 Also now I learned that Pirro Kondi (Wiki), brother of Vito Kapo is also dead but details are unkonwn? In an interview Vito Kapo said "that even Pirro wanted to cremated when he would died but his wish was never realized". The interview was done in 2010 so he died before this year.

Thanks. I've updated the page.

There's a family tree on Ancestry that suggests he may have died in 1997 (the same year he was released from prison) but I can't find anything reliable online to back this up.

Well, we now have an answer, because I emailed the National Library of Albania and they got back to me:

"Dear Mr. X,

I trust you are doing well!

I apologize for my late response.

According to the search we performed we do not have any material for their death.

We also inform you that all three political figures do not live.

With regards
Lindita Zhulali

So, as we suspected, Petro Dode and Foto Cami are also both deceased.

Alma Adamkiene hospitalised again. Good immortal potential here.
