But, I think an important point is that Gen Y people (born 1980-1995) have missed out on at least some of the pop culture, especially the television, that older generations have absorbed and know about. Up until the 1990s, TV was the main electronic device people used to get their information. A lot has changed since then.

I was thinking about this and arranging regular posters in age order without being boring and directly asking ages

 

@Cat O'Falk is now 60

@Sir Creep thinks only Cat is older than he

@maryportfuncity has grown up children so I am placing him next

@Lord Fellatio Nelson is a Grandad iirc

I think @YoungWillz is a bit older than  me @Bibliogryphon

@Lard Bazaar has a daughter about the same age as mine but as she is a Lady I will give her the benefit of the doubt and place her a few years younger.

I think @msc must again be in that age range because of his extensive DW knowledge. 

Then we get onto the younger ones so this list is purely guesswork.

Without being too specific I can remember the assassination of JFK and the first ever episode of Doctor Who. 

Many years later I learned that these coincided with the death of my Granny, which I remember but had never associated with those other big events.

I was yet to be acquainted with the works of C.S. Lewis, or indeed Aldous Huxley, so their deaths passed me by.

Joey, Rad, Dead Cow, the Kid and Chopped Liver were/are all teens. (Added charon/LFN caveat taken as read...)

 

Spade's a "xennial" which puts him around the late 70s and iirc TMIB is roughly the same age.

 

Sean and Deathray are early 20s. iirc DI mentioned being younger than me once, which was a shock as I thought he was one of the elders on here! Windsor is also younger by a few years, which makes no sense whatsoever.

 

YWillz and charon are around the same age give or take 5 years, and charon was 50 in 2016 or 2017 - I forget which year. He said on forum.

 

Oh, and from her memories I think Toast is ages with my mum, and I think Lardy is more than a decade older than me. As for me, I was still at school in the late 90s and my earliest clear news memories are Lockerbie.

I've stated my exact age a couple times at least.  I am 54.75 yrs old presently.  No shame in my game lol.
And yes, I've a 7-year old daughter (7.5 if we are precise), you can bust out your Texas Instruments TI-55 and do the math.
