I was going to say I'll take that but, having re-evaluated the health of a 78-year old billionaire, I'm less confident. I'm assuming my lack of 'outs' is because both Death Impends and Toast have John B. Anderson and George H.W. Bush and also have 7 hits to my 6, while Death Impends also kiboshes Lyndon LaRouche for the same reason and msc supersedes us all on Bob Dole because he has had a unique hit? Only in the Scavenger Hunt Bingo. But equally if I score another hit in any category (I'm looking at you cricketers) then I'd enter a three-way tie with Death Impends and Toast with 7 hits if Bush Sr. or Anderson go (and in so doing ruin your perfect tiebreaker ). While if the death is Windsor Davies I also tie msc on uniques! This game is fantastically bonkers. Other observations, in no particular order... 1. Wouldn't it be hilariously anti-climactic if after all this Ali wins with one of his original 6 outs? 2. Will time or Handrejka get off the mark before we have a winner? And on that note, hilariously both time and Handrejka are still only 3 hits away from winning this if they get unique picks and I count 6 of those for time and a whopping 14 for Handrejka (although I think a few are pie in the sky if I may be so bold...) This game could run a while yet. Or be over tomorrow. Oh, and finally... Toast 16,155 Posted June 6, 2017 5 hours ago, Bibliogryphon said: If @Toast & @Death Impends agree I have a solution. As there are two potential outcomes where you will tie you each pick one. As Toast arrived first I will grant her first pick but don't do anything until you both agree this strategy. I don't really want to pick either, especially as this is far from being a two-horse race. The pick would only last until another hit because has Rover has pointed out that will change everything. You would both be credited as winners but the prize of running the next game needs a winner. Otherwise we might be resulting to the Deathlist Cup coin flip.

Toast 16,155 Posted June 7, 2017 In that case I'll let DI have the pick.

gcreptile 10,979 Posted June 7, 2017 Why not sharing the victory and duties? You just have to decide who picks 3 new categories and who picks two. Bonus: The game-runners could even participate and try to win with only those categories the other one picked.

msc 18,480 Posted June 8, 2017 Sounds like Dick Cheney should take one for the team and avoid this issue.

Apologies for the belated response, I agree and will pick John B. Anderson (as despite all eyes on Bush I have the feeling Anderson will quietly slip away before Bush goes)

msc 18,480 Posted July 7, 2017 This game seems content to try and produce as many "direct hit" routes to a win without producing the winner first. I like it. How many people are on "next hit wins", theoretically? Me, Toast, Ali, some others? Be a right laugh if I lose because I just used Random.org to pick my teams, and thus missed out a bunch of known ill folk on one of my specialist subjects (Who)....
Bibliogryphon 9,588 Posted July 7, 2017 Five players are waiting on anyone of 22 deaths. msc & Rotton Ali can get a third unique. Everyone else is waiting for a US presidential pick. Toast & Death Impends still on a Bush Anderson tie breaker and Rover & Out looking out for Ross Perot. Still wouldn't like to pick a winner.
Bibliogryphon 9,588 Posted July 7, 2017 Just as a heads up Anthony Webb and Donald Pelmear do not have wiki pages. If someone sneaks in before you even if they died back in March you would lose the title. However I will take Toby Hadoke as a relable source assuming you are not Toby Hadoke. Pelmear will have a Wiki page, even a mash up after death. One of those actors, been in lots. Webb is just very old, and nice to see someone from Spearhead from Space actually alive! Every other person in most of the episodes is dead now, from Pertwee down.
Deathray 2,941 Posted July 7, 2017 Is this now officially the longest running dead-pool not to restart? (I'm excluding by-election bingo as it isn't actually a dead pool)
Bibliogryphon 9,588 Posted July 10, 2017 Just doing a bit of Research and Donald Pelmear tuns up in the new Sheila Hancock movie that has been discussed in another thread. Still a possibility but moved down the list a little.
Bibliogryphon 9,588 Posted July 11, 2017 I am quite pleased with the way this pool has turned out. There has been regular updates, some excellent research by players and no need for FFBI debates. It is also delivering an exciting finish. Although if we reach Christmas with no winner it will be frustrating. With hindsight the US Presidential category was too narrow. Thanks to all my players and I am looking forward to participating in SHDB2.
msc 18,480 Posted July 11, 2017 It's a bit like that Penny Falls game. So many potential winners hanging just on the edge. Before long, gravity has to appeal to one of them.
RoverAndOut 4,746 Posted July 11, 2017 Still have a sneaking suspicion that someone is going to emerge from further back with a couple of quick hits and mug us all. Might be a bit late for time and Handrejka mind you...
