Nice work DI. There usually is the odd "blimey" pick you'd assume would have got on their list before if they were going to (Giscard d'estaing, Rockefeller, Rainer), but I guess from 1930 and earlier, you can limit the Deathlist likely candidates to:

1916 –Beverly Cleary

1917 - IM Pei, Diana Athill

1919 – James Lovelock,Sheila Mercier

1920 – John Paul Stevens

1921 – Grand Duke Jean of Luxembourg, Carol Channing

1922 –Lyndon LaRouche, Dilip Kumar, Ivor Broadis

1923 –Glynis Johns, Franco Zeffirelli, Gen. Chuck Yeager, Judith Kerr, Freeman Dyson, Edwin Bramall, Sumner Redstone, Peregrine Worsthorne

1924 –Eve Marie Saint, Christopher Tolkein

1925–David Graham, June Whitfield, George A Cooper, Jacques Delors,Bernard Hepton, Mikis Theodorakis, Richard Baker,  June Lockhart

1926 –David Attenborough, Roger Corman, Norman Jewison, Alan Greenspan, Leonard Fenton, Charlotte Rae

1927 – Sidney Poitier, Hubert de Givenchy, Harry Belafonte, Rosalyn Carter, Albert Uderzo,Steve Ditko, Fenella Fielding, Mary Higgins Clark, Geoffrey Palmer, Ken Dodd, Freddie Jones

1928 – Walter Mondale, Tom Lehrer, Burt Bacharach,, Hans Blix, Nicolas Roeg, Ennio Morricone, Noam Chomsky, Mark Eden, Bernard Cribbins, Tommy Docherty, James Watson, Peter Firmin, Jean-Marie le Pen  Pete Murray, Berry gordy, Monty Norman

1929 – Patricia Routledge, Len Deighton, Sir Roger Bannister, Max von Sydow, Joseph Jackson,Bob Newhart, Barbara Walters, Bob Hawke, Imelda Marcos, Winnie Ewing, Christopher Plummer, Mohammed Al-Fayed, Thelma Barlow, Betty Boothroyd, Stuart Hall, Gerald Harper, Jack Higgins, Peter Higgs,  John Nettleton, Joan Plowright, Whitey Bulger, Vera Miles

And even a bunch of them are border line or we have Cmme word they wont consider them.

I view Yeager and Zeffirelli as the oldest 100% DLy names that have yet to appear. The former is still pretty active on Twitter though.

Not completely sold on the latter but Chuck Yeager indubitably!  Jerry Maren (96) should be included every year.  Instead we get Joni Mitchell.

With Bill Maynard's death, Peter Shilton is the only living #50 name from a DeathList.

For lack of a better place to put it (and this thread did have navel gazing at one point! :P)..

While I was looking through my files for a lost document (no luck so far), I had a look about my old email address. Anyhow, looking around, I was surprised to see, autosaved to 29/12/2009, a DDP 2010 team I never bothered sending in! I had completely forgotten this existed.

So, for the hell of it, the 2010 Pan Breed team that never got sent in.

1.       Al-Megrahi (joker)

2.       Jose Alencar

3.       Richard Attenborough

4.       Frederick Chiluba

5.       Liz Dawn

6.       Blake Edwards

7.       Joao Havelange

8.       Jack Klugman

9.       Sir Patrick Moore

10.   Chapman Pincher

11.   Cyril Smith

12.   Liz Smith

13.   Gloria Stuart

14.   Maggie Thatcher

15.   Jeremy Thorpe

16.   Gough Whitlam

17.   Nicholas Winton

18.   Norman Wisdom

19.   Zelda Rubinstein

20.   Simon MacCorkindale

All gone now, of course. Amazing what you can do with a list of mostly really old people and a decade...

And if you look at the actresses, only 17 of 40 have survived beyond 2 year so far, meaning that newly picked Deathlist actresses have a 52% chance of dying on that years or the next years list. Bad news for Betty White's immortality!

And, yes, I know, it's a statistical coincidence, but I find those far more interesting (to see if accidental trends continue) than conspiracy theories or supernatural stuff.

Is the David Jenkins on 29 years the late former Bishop of Durham?

@Clorox Bleachman Great list. However, I should probably recommend you move the people still alive between 2 - 3 years down a bit, since that isn't in order as of right...

EDIT: And those between the 1 - 2 year mark as well...

Thanks, never saw that. Doing an edit in a few hours that will distinguish hits from misses so I'll get round to changing it then.

Was on a refresher First Aid course today and a statistic cropped up re survival rates for non hospital cardiac arrest.

Norway they get CPR taught in schools apparently, and you need a first aid certificate to obtain a driving license.

The UK you do not.

Survival rates.

Norway 71% I think it was.

UK between 3-7%.

The old lady is in good hands....

Lol.

Never said any intention of using it.

"But" I need it for the Commercial endorsement of my boat tickets I think.

Same as a 5 year medical.

The farm is in the middle of nowhere, but 3 weeks ago in the space of 5 days there was a diver who had a heart attack a few hundred yards away, 72, deid. Helicopter in.

2 Nazi motorcyclists fucked it a mile up the road, both over 55, helicopter in.

19 year old work boat skipper subcontracting to us had a heart attack. Helicopter in.

I've also sea survival etc and no intention of following that, first thing I do is kick the boots off.

Lifejacket 100% non inflation when I've gone in, so it'd be tossed too (plus harder to get to cigarettes)

Kill cords are mandatory, but fuck them. Dangerous as fuck. Lifeboat crew are exempt because of the risk, so fuck it.

Another thing I didn't know tho.

You can contact the Emergency Services not just by dialling 999, but by text too.

'But' you need to have registered first.

Text 'register' to 999 and you'll get an automated response and that's it. * might also work for the 112 number.

You have a 1/365 chance of dying on your birthday.  (0.274%)
Yeah yeah pound the leap year crap up your arse, I'm referring to the 99.9999999999999% of us.   OK that was an exaggeration.  99.9315% of us.  Yes, I rounded down, why....that isn't allowed?
Oh bloody hell....

Nope, not taking that into account.

Doesn't change the 1/365 stat :)

Right, was going to craft a post re dying on your birthday and how it'd be skewed by not everyone being born evenly over the year, suicide being more likely, deaths more likely at onset of cold weather or heatwaves.

A quick google and there's more than that.

Heart attacks and strokes @20% higher on your birthday.

Death by misadventure higher through getting pished/pilled out your tits etc.

7% higher it seems SC.

" Heart attacks and strokes @20% higher on your birthday."  Fuck, and I'm Glaswegian too, so that ups the odds by about 4000%. Better not do anything stressful next week then, like take up marathon prep, or talk to any of the inlaws.
