I did think it was noble of Sir Howard to sacrifice himself for the sake of this week's show.

Selfish twat waited for a quiet week; will be one of the first two, surely

Nothing is certain on this show. And don't call me Shirley.

Burmese economist Hla Myint's death clearly sparking last minute cancellations and rewrites at the Last Word studio as we speak.

Pretty much not as predicted. I guess that's it for Parfitt. Enjoy the show.

Producer has had the week off and deputy producer is just taking the piss.

Surtees, Sledge, someone else? Who knows, unless you are the producer of the show.

My guess is Surtees, Forgeham, Hodgkin, Casey and Rubinger.

My picks would be nearly identical to YW, so I'll just cheat instead and say "Surtees, Casey, plus 3 archive ones of people no one has ever heard of before..."

Surtees is a definite but rest not announced. Rumours of a major celebrity having a choking fit.

2 out of 5 with Surtees and Hodgkin. Thomas, Woodruff and Sledge the others.

Walcott is a lock for next week. No doubts about it.

Berry is a bigger lock. Think he's more likely to end the show than lead it though. You can never tell...

How funny - if you'd just swapped two words round, you'd have quoted one of Chuck's songs!  :evil2:

Berry - surely - top of the shop so far.

They gave over the first half of Friday's Front Row to Walcott. In Radio 4 terms he is bigger than Berry.

Knowing Last Word they'll probably open with someone who ran a second-hand bookstore for hedgehogs.

Rockefeller Radio 4 friendly? Or is he too uninteresting for Last Word.

As rockhopper doesn't seem to be around to kickstart the predictions, I'll fill in for him this week.

Who could possibly make this week's line up? Chuck Berry and Colin Dexter feel like certs. David Rockefeller too dull? Martin McGuinness too controversial? Inomjon Usmonxo'jayev too obscure? Who knows, unless you are the producer of the show.

Dexter/Berry/McGuinness/Breslin/Walcott.

Ronnie Moran's a lock, must be 200TB of interviews with him in the Beeb archives.

McGuinness, Berry, Walcott, Salome Karwah, and Dexter were the final list. Rockefeller too uninteresting for them I guess.

4/5? Fucking hell. That's unacceptably competent predicting for Last Word.
