The widow of Charlton Heston Lydia

So, given the discussion of Nancy - first wife, not daughter - of Frank Sinatra still being with us there are LOADS of obitable widows still hanging around

Doreen Wise and Joan Bartholemew (Mrs Morecambe and Wise)

Clarissa Eden and Mary Wilson - widows of long dead prime ministers

One or two of them probs worth considering

How about the widow of Hollywood legend Charlton Heston Lydia Clarke who is thankfully still alive aged 94 and was a  c Or D  list actress herself? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lydia_Clarke

Senator Mazie Hirono,69  of Hawaii while arguing against the Obamacare repeal revealed she has Kidney cancer

She is still planning on running for the 2018 senate elections, though admittedly, she's in a safe democratic seat anyways...

Wasn't his cancer caught very early and he was able to resume his career within a few months?

He returned to the stage iirc. Of course, Aki Hintsa had stomach cancer, returned to work, went off my longlist...

Stomach cancer has a 10% survival rate past five years. I say he is worth keeping an eye on.

If former governor Linda Lingle runs for the republicans, or Tulsi Gabbard runs in the democratic primaries, Hirono could be in trouble.

I am sure all eyes will be on Johnny Hallyday when picking names for 2018 teams, but another popular French singer his age should not be overlooked.  Jacques Dutronc appears to be trying to give himself lung cancer one puff at a time

Nice suggestion! Although I dunno why you haven't included any photos of the candidate, even one would've told the whole story in itself. :)

I was actually writing such a post, with picture and her extensive Daily Mail coverage. But it's true, the first impression already tells the whole story. That post would have become far too long, I thought.

Speaking of stomach cancer, should we watch Charles Bradley?

My feeling is it will return, but not this year. Watch, as usual, for concert cancellations. Stomach cancer will slowly starve you. So even if it returns today, death is a couple of months away.

While studying Romeo and Juliet this afternoon, I noticed that the director of the 1968 movie version, Franco Zeffirelli, is still alive at the age of 93. I'd say he'd likely get an obit from at least one major paper.

Zeffirelli unable to travel from Rome to Florence for a gala:
