Hmmm - the headline says he is suffering from cancer but nothing in the article suggests he actually is, it just sounds like he is talking about cancer prevention as lots of other people would too.

He's guaranteed UK coverage, no doubt about that, and he has done more than your typical American baseball/football/basketball player. He's known to be in ill health as well, which is why I'm mentioning him, but do you think the committee will go for him? They did go for Joe DiMaggio after all...

Yeah, that was what I was kind of thinking as well. DiMaggio had a lot more going for him than baseball, so people can easily recognize him, where as I can't say the same thing about Starr. Still, I think he could be one of those cult names in the future like Jake LaMotta, where many people may not know who he is (even with the release of Raging Bull for LaMotta), but those who do will understand his inclusion on the list. Still think that's unlikely though. 

I can't really comment on the Bart Starr thread thing, that probably happened before I joined the forum...
