Ideas And Possibilities For 2018

Joe DiMaggio saw his own Deathlist.net obituary and was so shocked, he died.

I might have made that up.

Starr will get UK obits without a doubt but I don't think he transcends his field the way DiMaggio did. With the latter you have stuff like the Marilyn Monroe marriage, the namecheck in Mrs. Robinson...

Plus didn't someone create a thread on Bart Starr a year or two ago and it ended up being merged with the general US football thread?

Shouldn't have been merged, what with his extensive medical woes, and just plain deserves his own on merit.  Alas...

Watching a documentary on the BBC about Maxwell Clark, and apparently British scientist/maths type Sir Michael Atiyah is still with us, aged 88. Highly obitable when and where he goes.

Paul O'Grady.

He has had to pull out of a forthcoming  judging stint on that Comic Relief shite for 'personal' reasons.

Hmmmm.

Hmm again - begin to think he may not make 2018.

I think Jerry Maren (the last surviving Munchkin from The Wizard of Oz) would be a good pick for next year.

He turns 98 next year, not to mention there was a death hoax about him back in February 2016.

Most notable german movie-director and Golden Globe winner Arthur Brauner turns 100 next year. One to take a look on, not sure if he is obitable.

Brauner's wife Maria also died last week, aged 90:

The article calls her "grande dame of West Berlin".

I am thinking Roger Bannister should be on the 2018 list.

Should run that by the Committee.

My first post here :)

A few possibilities, not on the 2017 list

Lindsay Sandiford (will have been on death row in Indonesia for 5 years by next year)

Kim Jong-un (assassination threat)

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi (assassination threat)

Charles Manson (already rushed to hospital seriously ill in January 2017)

The following should be removed:

Queen Elizabeth (old but definitely got a few years left)

George Bush Senior (also old but been healthy of late. Possible for 2019, but not 2018)

If he makes it to the end of the year I can see no way the committee will omit George H W Bush in 2018.

We've got to keep Bill Frankland in sight for 2018. Q/O nailed on. Given his age he's probs best for HPDP purposes

Maybe - like - he could make a porno or turn up in a panto or something before 1 Jan

Bill Frankland is a genius, quite frankly. Not a household name, perhaps, but he ought to be.

If Barbara Bush and John McCain survive this 4 months they need to be on the next year deathlist
