The 'Ive not heard that one for years'! Thread

Recommended Posts

Another thread that may die a thousand deaths..

The other day, on't youtube, I found a song that I had not heard for YEARS.

While some oldies do tend to get played now and again there are the odd few that appear once in a blue moon and have you turning up the volume because 1) You had forgotten its existence and 2) Its not a bad old choon innit.

So, post up that bangin choon ( or bag of old shite) that you havent heard for eons and, in your opinion, deserves some airplay on Radio 2/Capital Gold or BBC Norfolk or summat.

One choon per post!

I don't remember it from that. Mostly because I was only 3.

Do they have to be good songs?

I heard this nonsensical garbage on the radio about a month ago.  Probably hadn't heard it in 25 years.

Bloody hell!  I just looked that up because I remembered that Tim Rice was the lyricist for that musical, and I didn't think it was a Lloyd Webber show.

It was Benny & Bjorn from ABBA!  I never knew that.

[disclaimer - I dislike musicals.]

AND I have also just learned that Murray Head is the brother of Anthony Head from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and those cringingly awful Gold Blend ads.

(I bet everybody else already knew that)

I played a ladyboy in that scene of the show.

High heels, leopardskin print dress. Came off stage to this:

Dad: She's a bit of all right.

Mum: That's your son.

Sir Creep you are heading for a one way trip to the naughty step. I love One Night In Bangkok and it frequently gets played on my ipod.

This will forever  be called "Pick up the Mice" now for me as that's how my six year old nephew misheard the song a few years ago.

Ah the 80s!

White socks, black slip on shoes and tight Levi jeans.

Hair like George Michael ( if it had been cut by my hair dresser ) and the unmistakable smell and feel of dry ice as it cascaded through the crowd at TOTS (Talk of the South ) premium Southend night club on a Saturday night.

Where the fuck did time go?
