Is it possible to move this thread in the deathlist forum section rather than the dead pool ? I Don’t see Why it’s in dead pool as it’s not a pool and several other countries have their own thread in the deathlist main forum section. @Paul Bearer

Sounds ok to me.  One thing though, can a translation be added into English for the non French speaking members ( moi ) ?

I searched for all the Grand'Croix recipients (the highest grade of distinction of the Legion d'Honneur) since 2010 and came up with a list of 39 names that are now dead. The average age of death is 93,82 which is quite impressive. The oldest one was Hubert Faure who died at 106 in 2021

Since 2000, here are the recipients of that distinction over 90 still alive

• Simone Rozès (b.1920) : awarded in 2006

• Marie-José Chombart de Lauwe (b. 1923) : awarded in 2012

• Jean Nallit (b. 1923) : awarded in 2019

I thought it might be a good idea to make a common French list for 2024 with the different French people on the site, a bit like there is in the DACH deathlist thread. The idea is to have an "official" list where the celebrities would be chosen in consultation. Let me know if anyone is interested

Marcel Amen !

I dont see why it would be an obligation. This thread is interesting especially for a french community. Even if english-speakers grow with the idea to be alone in the world, I learn you that a lot of people speak in other languages and have other cultures. So if this thread interests you, you can use Google Translate, as a lot of people would do to speak you in english by respect... Sorry it's not your fault, but I fed up of english-globish.

Why is it a requirement that they need to translate every post? The thread title is French speaking deathlist. If any English speaker cares that much about what is said in here they should be the ones going through the effort to translate it. If not, click ‘mark as read’ and carry on.

Fine by me. Back to the pool it goes. I only asked for a translation to be made (see post on 3rd March) for the benefit of non French speakers.

while talking about Hugues Aufray, here is a pic of him from november 2022 at 93. I must say that I hardly know any other person Looking as good as him at that age. Still Touring despite having fell earlier this month. Won’t follow Dumont this year imo

Michel Peyramaure has died aged 101. Obit (In French).

I have a non-interesting and irrational theory to predict the death of Milan Kundera. I noticed celebrities born the same day and dead at the same time.

First the example of the twins Bogdanoff, born the 29th august 1949, who died the 28th december 2021 for Grichka and the 3rd january 2022 for Igor. Probably a record for two celebrities to have lived exactly at the same time on the earth (only 6 days more for Igor)

But it repeated at the end of last year with Jerry Lee Lewis and Mylène Demongeot, born the 29th september 1935. J.L.L died the 28th october 2022, and Mylène Demongeot the 1st december, so she has lived only 34 days more than Jerry Lee Lewis.

If the "loi des séries" repeats, we can believe that Milan Kundera is going to die soon, because him and Marcel Amont (dead 8th march) were born the same day, the 1st april 1929...

Singer Emmanuelle, known for her hit song « Premiers Baisers » (first kisses) in 1986, which became the theme song for the TV show of the same name , has died aged 59
