Lewd's not asking for the Deathlist, he's asking for his top 650 for 2018 list.

Kamala's complications from diabetes included fluid on the lungs and heart, apparently. He's regained consciousness for now though, allegedly.

The fact he is developing such serious complications is a bad omen.Yes he may well pull through but other complications are likely to overwhelm him sooner or later.

As I mentioned in the Fats Domino page a few weeks ago, I think his songwriting partner Dave Bartholomew should be included onto the deathlist next year.

I agree. I mean how many rockers are near centenarians?

Another excellent rock pick: Big Jay McNeely.

The man most responsible for the wild acrobatic instrumental showman in rock, McNeely's shows featured him walking along the bar, lying on his back, and bent over backwards while playing his tenor sax, hitting squealing high notes and guttural low notes and giving birth to the idea of rock as performance art capable of extracting extreme sentiments and reactions from the audience. This was decades before the acrobatics of Hendrix, Townshend  and Angus Young. "The Deacon's Hop" remains one of rock 'n' roll's most influential records and he continued successfully into the late 50's and is still playing and wowing audiences in his retirement years to this day. Of all of the horn players of rock’s first golden age McNeely is the last man standing, as he came out of retirement in later years playing well-received shows as he hit 90 years old with new records coming out periodically to remind one and all of his importance in rock’s rise and subsequent takeover of popular culture.

Dear Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Committee: Please put this giant in while he's still on this earth to accept the honor he's so rightly due.

9 point boost to Gcreptile in the DDP.

A bit like the Sharon Jones of 2017. Someone involved in music, not many went for them, perhaps distrusting the extent of the illness , and just as folk might reconsider them with new news in August/September, they snuff it in November.

I think we need a professional go player. I mean there's always at least one on the "Deaths in 2017" page, and it'd increase our popularity in those all-important eastern Asian markets.

Can't tell you who should be put on, but I can tell you who should be taken off. Only 34 remain so the committee only has to take off 9.

1. Ian St. John

2. Gay Byrne

3. Desmond Tutu

4. Honor Blackman

5. Doug Ellis

6. Hosni Mubarak

7. Sandy Gall

8. Emperor Akihito

9. David Prowse.

No need to remove Betty White, Bob Barker, QEII or anybody of the sort.

My nine to be removed would be:

  1. Queen Elizabeth II
  2. Honor Blackman
  3. Hosni Mubarak
  4. Gay Byrne
  5. Pierre Cardin
  6. Stan Lee
  7. Jimmy Carter
  8. Sandy Gall
  9. Emperor Akihito

However once I got past the first four on the list I found it difficult to choose.

Lots of potential for next year.

Agree with everybody except Carter. You just don't remove an ex-US president, 93 year-old cancer survivor and all in all one of the most famous people in the world.

Names to drop for next year from easiest to hardest, imo of course:

  1. Gay Byrne
  2. Sandy Gall
  3. Ian St John
  4. Bob Barker
  5. Desmond Tutu
  6. Honor Blackman
  7. Hosni Mubarak
  8. David Prowse
  9. Doug Ellis

Right, so that seals the fate that one of them will keel over before the years end now...

Agree with all except Barker. Too famous and prone to falls. IMO Akihito is too young for DL and for the most part looked healthy when Trump visited.
