OK, this is getting beyond a joke now. This show started in 2007. This is the current necrolog:

Wendy Richard (Sylvia): Died 2009

Geoffrey Hutchings (Mel Harvey): Died 2010

Kenny Ireland (Donald): Died 2014

Kate O'Mara (Barbra Simmonds): Died 2014

Cilla Black (guest star): Died 2015

Bobby Knutt (Eddie Dawson): Died 2017

Keith Barron (Deputy Mayor): Died 2017

Plus the cast has included at various points DDP longlist names Tim Healy and Vicky Leyton, as well as  "keep an eye on them" figures like Joan Collins, Melvyn Hayes and Una Stubbs.

Never watched the show.

Never seen it either. Kenny Ireland was good in House of Cards and Taggart though.

Is it filmed on an asbestos landfill?

I watch it. IMO it's quite funny sending up the Brits abroad. I think this is a Marmite programme.

According to Wikipedia, they're adding Hale and Pace to the cast next year.

That will be the first time they have been together since they were last together and as hilarious as eczema.

Very harsh that, imo.

Eczema is far funnier.

Absolutely love this show, whilst 7 of the cast have died, the show has been running for ten years, so that doesn't actually seem catastrophically high. The surprise is more which of the cast have died.

Tim Healy looks and sounds worse than ever in tonight's  still open all hours.Hard to believe he is only 65.Looks older than David Jason and Geoffrey Whitehead.

I thought that too. I also thought Bridget Forsyth sounded a little bit frailer than usual but I'd forgotten she's 77 so doesn't look too bad considering.

Well her long running on screen husband in the Likely Lads has recently gone to meet his maker so probably not a great surprise

AFAIK, it was not just ITV that bought it to a close, I'm pretty sure that there is an article out there where the 'writer' Derren Litten was considering ending the show anyway as he was writing something else that was being commissioned by ITV or similar.

And since then,

John Challis (Monty, died 2021)

Una Stubbs (Diana, died 2021)

Bobby Ball (Ron, died 2020)

Roy Hudd (Maurice, died 2020)

Barry Chuckle (Crostini, died 2018).

It’s mostly male comedy actors of a certain age, so Tim Healy and Brian Murphy best be cautious. No regular female cast member has died (yet).

Sheila Reid has looked decrepit for about 40 years. Tim Healy looked ghastly last I saw him on TV, doubt he has too long left now. (And Johnny Vegas has always struck me as a HA in waiting.)

As long as any curses avoid Steve Pemberton...
