Why the sudden peak in interest in people named Leslie? Was there a Pointless round based on them?

Report from court:

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-44521090

I don't know... the story doesn't amount to much, in my opinion. She got touched at a disco...

The woman said it had impacted on her relationship with her husband, friends and work.

"It's been one of the toughest years of my life when it should have been the happiest," she added.

Sounds like my formative years just minus the alleged sexual assault to be honest.

This really does sound trivial.  In my young days  :old: this sort of thing was just body language.  Bloke fancied you, he'd make a tentative move and your reaction conveyed whether his attentions were welcome or not.  If they weren't, you'd just firmly move his hand away from wherever it had wandered to.  Rarely any drama.

Saw this thread and wondered to myself what's going on with this little weirdo nowadays. First thing I see?

BBC giving out false news once more.

"John Leslie has been found not guilty after a not proven verdict".

No cuntos, he was 'not proven'.

Its a GREAT NotW verdict option, and a shame they want to get rid of it.

"Cleared" of sexual assault. For now.

EDIT: Beaten by milliseconds

EDIT EDIT: Clarification that "Cleared" only quotes the albeit somewhat misleading BBC article.

EDIT EDIT EDIT: Clarification that John Leslie is still a repugnant bucket of fuck.

Worse for his rep, he was found proven of being John Leslie.

Clearly innocent if the jury only took 23 minutes.

Which would make you wonder how it got to court in the first place. Evidence must have been practically non existent if they're coming back that quick

His entire career has been ruined by false accusations.  And still it goes on.  I'm surprised he's still with us.

Quote

Mr Leslie, whose full name is John Leslie Stott, told the jury he had become reclusive, paranoid, depressed and suicidal amid the allegations, saying: "I lost everything."
