Maybe italicised?

Work on the DDP is pausing for today while I watch Dimitri Van den Bergh's comeback against Rob Cross.

Octopus's explanation for that back in the day.

Hello.

I looked up my DDP record  (number of hits in brackets). Probably of no interest to anyone else, but:

2017 29= (9) (to date)

2016 41= (8)

2015 30 (6)

2014 70= (4)

2013 33= (8)

2012 17= (8)

2011 103= (3)

2010 164= (3)

2009 162= (6)

I don't know what that proves, other than that a few hits went a long way in 2014 and I've been quite consistent for the last three years. Double figures and Top 20 for 2018 would be nice. Still tinkering.

Good luck, Spade!

Just entered my three teams Shaun of the Dead 69 No more expenses and Slippery soap into next years race.I must say I think my main team Shaun of the Dead 69 looks like the best list I have compiled since I began DDP in 2014.I don`t think it will win but I didn`t want it to be too full of FFBI types although they are a fair few.If I didn`t have a majority of picks who had a genuine claim to fame and no household names at all it would have felt wrong.Plus there were two A list names I just had to put on the list and decided months ago they were going on .Might not be worth as much points as younger picks but if they both don`t make the drop 40 I will shit the bed.

I've sent mine in, along with a similar theme team as this year (dementia).

There are no surprises and no obscurities, and I don't expect to do particularly well.  It's just for the thrill of the ride.

Same here.Taking part is enough. The mother of all deadpools. even if I lose all interest in pooling I reckon I will still fling in 20 names in for a main team.

Who else picked Erica Garner?

Well, if she made the starting line, it would’ve been a 50/50 chance for me tbh, as there was some optimism of a recovery cause they found brain activity. Of course, she’s now dead, so she won’t be on my team...

Thought I might as well name drop Tsvangirai.Mo way he is a unique pick so might as well try and lobby him for the drop 40.

And it doubles as a joke too as we all know how much you loved writing those pro-wrestling obits...

Just sent two teams and a theme team. Do you receive an email in response after your teams are received?

From Spade's email:

" When the host has received your email, a message will be sent confirming this.

Don't expect a full confirmation of the team you have entered until very late in the year/ early new year, depending on when you enter. "

I haven't had an acknowledgement yet, but Spade did say in the post above that he was taking a day out.

Me, but the team was about ten minutes away from entering when the confirmation of her death came through.

Just entered now

Quick question, since I'm sending both a main team and B team tomorrow, is it okay that I label the list 1 - 40 and distinguish which team is which in order to potentially avoid repeats on both teams?

^ No offence Joey, but that sounds needlessly complicated?

In simpler terms, I'm just trying to avoid repeats. But I'm not quite sure how to approach that in the off chance someone on the main team dies before the first...

Just send each team separately, each with joker and subs.

All emails now sent, if anyone thinks they should have had an email that hasn't let me know. I'm wearing my "I'm New Please Be Patient" badge right now, like the one Pret employee with the Slovenian flag emblem.

E-mail not received (due to letting it lapse) I've sent a list anyway. Hope you got it.

I sent my three teams in one email, advising they were all existing teams and detailing the picks some time ago. Duly acknowledged, no problems.

Obviously, the later you leave it, the less likely you get acknowledged and then it's hold your breath hoping they are on when the new lists go up.

Hopefully not tempting fate here, but so far none of my picks have died before the start. (Maybe they won't die before the finish, mind...)

Yes, it would be reassuring to hear from you, Spade, if you're about.  @Spade_Cooley

Willz - not expecting a full confirmation of teams, just a note that entry has been received.
