33. Willie Nelson

Recommended Posts

Decided to give this country legend a well overdue thread, especially cause I think he could potentially make a great deathlist pick next year. With so many health issues he had to deal this past year, surely he can't live much longer, can he?

I'm just saying, if he sees the first day of high school for me next year, I would be surprised...

His last album also sounds like a farewell.

Well... it had a track called

"Still Not Dead"

If this blind item were true, older A list country music star. That limits it to what? Kenny Rogers or Willie Nelson? Maybe Loretta Lynn, maybe. Dolly Parton doesn't strike me as an "older" music star quite yet, even if she is A list.

I am actually surprised by the number of folk who've never heard of him, certainly not on a Willie Nelson level. (Despite being half of the Highwaymen!)

Glen Campbell

Undoubtedly, but unlikely to be him, given his whole dying last year bit?

Ends show early and cancels some more upcoming shows. If he’s still alive in 2019, he’s a must have imo...

That was just 3 cancelled shows.  But subsequent shows must go on.
Looks like he's coming to N'awlins ($145 for SRO general admission).  Last chance to see him, now I'm thinking about it...

Go see him if you can. We saw him in Norway several years ago. The band played almost 3 hours - at that time it was called something like Willie Nelson and family on the road again.

That is how this show is billed as well (& Family).  Not to mention it is in the House of Blues in New Orleans, you simply can't beat that.  I'm not a big country music guy but I respect Willie and his contribution.  Had a friend who saw Glen Campbell about 4 years ago in Chicago during his final few shows.  Talk about me being jealous!  So yeah I should go see Willie.

You should.

I am glad I saw Tom Petty last year.  And sorry now that I missed The Fall when they played local to me a couple of years back.

Wow....catching Petty just last year, that's awesome (in hindsight).  Lucky you!
