Interestingly, said latecomer posted their list just a few hours after Rachael Bland announced she's only got days to live, yet staggeringly didn't pick her.

I was very tempted, but I am a man of honour and that would have been taking the piss. Do I get bonus points for being an alround good bloke:) ?

Maybe we could suggest an annual 'Why The Hell Did You Do That?' Award, worth 0.5pts?

Er, I got a hit with Rachael Bland early in the month (not Richard Bland as on the masterlist), and yet that’s not updated yet...

Clearly says Richard Bland mate.  Too bad so sad.  Clerical errors go against the participant.

I think most of my September picks were actually ineligible because I did it without reference to my Masterlist and have mostly replicated my April list. Therefore i will be losing very little by posting October early.

1. Arnold Yarrow

2. Pope Benedict XVI

3. Marieke Vervoort

4. Clive James

5. Fernando Ricksen

Update on sleeper pick Mike Gasparato -- sounds like he is somehow recovering.  This month.

OK, I'm going to be lenient just this once and give it to you, despite the mistyping on my part. ;)

Please be sure to check for any obits prior to early posting of a new team, so that you may be credited for a legit score.  If you post early, and do not report your score first, you can lose those points.  If you wait until the start of the new month to post, but a late obit comes in for a name you had in that previous month, you will still get the points.

Joey Russ loses his #2 slot for Oct, after forfeiting his 3 spot last month.  It appears he is trying to win this thing with a self imposed handicap of 4 names per month . . . .  what a brute.  Would "Joey Rush" be more appropriate?

My Oct lame-O's:

Roberta McCain

Johnny Clegg

Clive James

Gene Cornish

Richard A Overton

Oh well, noon yesterday 'Sir Creep don't forget to throw a list together' .  Alas.  I bitch about other people turning names in late, now I have to lead by example.  I'm out this month.

SC

(EDIT) Ahh, but if an October list is accepted at this late juncture, here 'tis:

Sir C's Oct list of the Fateful

1. ND Tiwari (#2 in Aug) - 5 points
2. Christian Abercrombie
3. Waverlee Younger

4. Masazo Nonaka (#5 Aug)
5. Johnny Clegg (cuz I'm too lazy to find anyone else) - 1 point

Let's challenge the QO Gods, I say!

A reminder to folks who play a lot of pools.  I know it can get confusing to remember the specifics of each.  But here, there is no such thing as a LATE entry.  You potentially penalize yourself by entering late, as you may miss some low hanging fruit that drops, or miss out on a big name that gets selected at all 5 spots for the month.  But you can submit your team at anytime in the month with no "official" penalty.  Carry on.
