Ooops. Then again he was an icon of the 70s. And probably not dead......

That is a shame. Brilliant actor, though one who could make Brian Blessed look restrained at times.

As mentioned by many of us in the past, well known for his boozing, and his doctors said he should have died before the age of 60, so to make it to 90 is pretty good going.

If you've never heard his album from the 1970s, you've missed out. Here's the toe-tapping smash hit "Rape"

Someone played this on their phone at work this morning. Unbelievable.

Apparently it only got a release because his record company expected it to fail; and they quickly pulled it when it started making a profit. The question is who the fuck was buying it and which lists should they be on?

I'm sorry for kids growing up now in the witch-hunting 21st century, when almost anything is deemed 'offensive' by somebody, harmless flirting is outlawed and people are vilified for minor misdemeanours 30 or 40 years ago, or have their reputations ruined over unproven allegations.

R.I.P.

He released this in 1970. Imagine something like this released nowadays.

I'm just wondering Toastie....

What if he had been caught cottaging in 2018 instead of 1975. How would society have seen him now?

This reminds me that The Pooka had Wyngarde as his avatar.

Fuck, I miss Pookie.

Wyngarde will always be Department S and Jason King for me. He was so dapper and Gex Godesque I'm sure he used Tiger piss as aftershave.

He has never been on the official deathlist as far as I can remember.

I'm guessing that Peter Wyngarde was the inspiration for Marvel's Mastermind character, he looks like him, & even has the same, or very similar last name.

Couldn't see a reference elsewhere via search engine, or indeed from a QO yet, but Howard Lew Lewis has died aged 76. Maid Marian and Her Merry Men, Brush Strokes, plus guest spots on Blackadder, Minder, and nearly every other 80s British TV show. One of those faces imo.

OldWillz was watching Brushstrokes late last year. Had him marked out, but felt (probably wrongly) he was likely to go the way of Zara Nutley and Ronald Hines.

Good actor. RIP.
