The Dead of 2018

But as I always point out, this is the Dead of (Year) thread, and it should serve as a useful reference source.

Therefore ideally every death of note should be listed here, even when the deceased is mentioned in more specific threads.

Merit in it Toastie.

Except its almost a day later.

If you can't find the thread, by all means ram it in here, but when it is so old, go to the wiki page.

Double post.

No point in wasting it.

Walter Schuster died at 88 earlier in the month, won the second highest medal at something, a bronze, in some Olympic thing when drug testing wasn't rife.

Doesn't matter if it's posted a bit later.  My thinking is that people might want to read through the thread at a later date.  Yes, there's Wiki, but nothing wrong with having an in-house one-stop shop.

I don't understand why people are so eager to sneer.  Fine to point out a duplication when it appears almost directly below the first announcement, but I really don't see the harm in deaths being recorded in all appropriate threads.  Many people don't have the time or inclination to search out and read every single thread.

Retired British Army Major General Henry Dalzell-Payne has died aged 88. http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/thetimes-uk/obituary.aspx?n=harry-dalzell-payne-cbe&pid=187959714

One of those bodies in charge of Northern Ireland, particularly at the time of Bloody Sunday. He gave evidence to the Saville Inquiry denying that the Army were ordered to shoot "illegal marchers": http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/northern_ireland/2331217.stm

No.

It's not as exciting as others paint it. Mentioned several times on this forum and no longer a unique pick either.

I'd wait for a more reliable source before posting deaths from Wrongpedia.

Yeah, unfortunately, it will take so fucking long to work out how to put the bastard thing together he would have completely decomposed to the point where a dustpan and brush and a bin will all that will be needed to dispose of him.

Next Glee actor death odds:

Naya Rivera: Evens - Had a domestic violence case dropped just days ago, is clearly on opiods and weighs about four pounds these days

Matthew Morrison: 9/4 - If certain stories about Mr Morrison and another Hollywood power figure are true, these could drop drastically

Lea Michele: 7/1 - Fucking nuts, but in a generic Broadway star way rather than a Naya Rivera way.

The wheelchair kid: 100/1 - Not even a real wheelchair kid.
